Give Peyton a Super Bowl run this year and I think he will contemplate retirement. If not then he is still only a few good years left. Like most I believe that he can and will join the Vols staff as a OC, QB coach, or even head coach if he wanted. Watching Peyton dissect other NFL teams within a few minutes while on the sideline is amazing. Also, Peyton has the ability to coach receivers, running backs, and even linemen to understand and perform well in his offensive system.... I'm pretty sure also that we would annually have the #1 QB in the country begging to play for Peyton.

Gotta dream big!

I just don't think he gets into coaching at the college level. Besides he has too many Papa John's to run.

I think when Peyton retires, if he wants to still be involved in football that he joins the likes of Gruden, Sapp, and Warner....

TV commentator...

Otherwise, he will probably just be a dad and a pizza man for a while.

Peyton will be just like his father and spend more time with his family, he will be a father to his kids.

He gave an interview Monday, and said he will play as long as he feels he is competitive. I doubt he retires anytime soon.

As far as being a coach.... Why? He has no experience. That being said, if he wanted to come here to be a QB coach, I would hope they could make room :).

Peyton Manning isn't going to spend his retirement years working 100-hour weeks and blowing smoke up the asses of 17 year old recruits. Sorry.

IF he ever works again once he leaves the NFL, it will be in TV. I foresee him taking the Archie route with occasional TV work, but mostly staying out of the spotlight.

I think after Peyton retires, he will do the TV thing for a few years, stay very close and supportive to his alma mater, and eventually coach.

Then that's where I get lost: Does he go to the NFL or college ranks? Does he become an OC in college first or go straight for a HC gig? If he does want a college HC job, does he do the TV thing until an opportunity arises at UT?

Only time will tell... :dunno:

Based on what? Your feelings? Because you wouldn't have gotten that from anything he's ever publicly stated.

And why do you assume he wants to coach at UT? He's never stated he wants to in any capacity.

I foresee Peyton becoming the color analyst for SEC on CBS in 10 years, replacing Gary Danielson.

Do you see how Peyton is playing? 16 TDs...no INTs...1500 passing yards. Even if they go 19-0 and he wins MVP and Super Bowl MVP...he's not retiring. You don't retire when you play at this high of a level. Hell, Favre would still be playing if his last season with the Vikings wasn't a complete disaster.

I wonder how many games Peyton would get to coach before our wonderful fans started calling for his ouster and demand Fulmer be given the job?
