When was Houston Fancher hired?

Wasn't Fancher hired this year, or was it last? I've been thinking and if Fancher was hired last offseason then he may have been hired as the fill in for Pearl and staff had they received the coaching ban. Just a thought though.

he came on when he got canned at Appy St who then hired Buzz for the job.

A guy that cant beat out Buzz for a job. Sounds like Hammy's kinda guy

It wouldnt surprise me if Hammy ended up making his the coach.Its not like Hammy has a track record of hiring the right guy for the job.

I'm not saying that I think he is the replacement. I was thinking he was suppose to be the fill-in and only the fill-in.

I definitely dont think he is the replacement. I would hope the university was upfront and told him there was little to no chance he would be hired. Surely he doesnt think he is a candidate.

They just need someone for the players to go to. Probably looking over things like offseason workouts, etc.

What I've read, which includes comments from Fancher himself, is that he is interim head coach only to provide a resource for the players. He may be included in the search, but I would expect, and hope for, the hire to come from outside of the university.

He was hired about 2 years ago, to answer the original question.
