My Dad and uncle told me about it. Neyland beat Bryant on the way to the Cotton Bowl and a National Championship.

My Dad and his best friend, Oscar Huffstetler, were at that Ky. game. He said they built a small fire in the stands to keep warm. Dad and Oscar, also, were at the Cotton Bowl the following New Years Day when the Vols beat Texas for a share of the National Championship. I have the program and a souvenir pin-on orange football with orang and white ribbon from said Cotton Bowl. Priceless!!!

dont remember any games in neyland

Was at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas when we played Kansas State with snow and sleet. Absolutely miserable

That was probably the last time Tennessee played in snow. However, when we played UK way back in the late 50s we played UK in Knoxville and it was about 10 degrees. There was about 4 inches of ice on the seats. A very cold day.

In the 40s, 50s, and 60s, we often had snows in November. One of the treats was hunting on Thanksgiving and tracking game in the snow.

the kentucky game in 04 was pretty close, it was raining and in the low 30's the whole game. I think it had snowed/sleeted the week before

I was at that game with my wife and then-9-year-old daughter. We live near Orlando (behind enemy lines) and visited family in Atlanta for Thanksgiving so we went on up to the game. I think it was Gerald Riggs who scored a TD with less than a minute to go in the game to win it for us. Gosh, it was cold that day. My wife still reminds me about sitting in the cold rain.
