Of course, only the volnation way, big news in Recruiting and Bball, thus this is why I put it in the Football forum. :p

You're right. When Butch said he was going to lock down the state, the first thing I thought was, "Let me know when you land Jalen Hurd." This is shaping up to be the best class in years.

You never know but momentum in recruiting is fickle and can go either way. Coaches can only do so much, it is HUGE for other BIG TIME recruits to be calling other recruits. I can't recall when two big time recruits committed this early.

With all these camps now days, it's easy for these guys to recruit.

It has potential to be the best class in the Rivals.com era for us.


'02 and '05 had a great ranking but busts. '14 is obviously TBD.

Why pick out the few times good classes were busts? You could have looked at which good classes paid off. We have complained for several years. Just sit back and be happy for a while.

I was going off the top of my head, I believe those were the highest rated by the services. I forgot about 2007, which coincidentally had busts.

This class is a bridge class, if you will. Everyone says you need to win to attract recruits, but you need recruits to win. Guys like Hurd, TKJ, Vic, and (hopefully) Bates will get the ball rolling as far as on-field improvement. This will set us up to eventually be able to recruit elite prospects across the nation. This legacy class, combined with the coaching ability of Butch Jones, is just what the doctor ordered to start the long road back to where Tennessee should be.

James Franklin was on Hurd's nuts at the tssaa state title game. I knew Candy never stood a chance with Hurd, but Franklin just got butchslapped!
