Do you think the Championship games will mean anything in 2024 with the 12 team playoff. Do you take the regular season best record and crown em Conference champs? Just saying as the playoff games will be more of the focus and I think the conference championship game will be greatly diminished. I personally would like to forgo it, and save our players health for the playoffs. I’m sure it will get debated a lot, but the championship game however prestiges, seems to lose its value in the bigger picture.

It could mean a lot for teams like UNC or Purdue……even Utah (if Utah had lost they wouldn’t be in a 12 team playoff).

At that point crappy teams that happens to make the championship of a down division really playing for pride……maybe a bowl spot……now some of them could be playing for a playoff bid.

Yes, because I think regardless of record, Conference Champs will be rewarded 6 spots (SEC, big, pac, acc, aac & I guess what’s left of big 12…) the rest will be “wildcard/ND… etc.”

With a 12 team playoff, I’d eliminate conference games or go back to an 11 game season. I doubt either happens

With a playoff in NO way do you need conference championship games unless that becomes part of the playoff.

Just my opinion

Conference Championships meant something before the playoff, they do in the 4 team playoff, and they still will in a 12 team playoff. You think K-State just won the Big 12 or Utah won the PAC 12 and is saying "Yeah, but we could've made the playoff"? More like "We would've liked to make the playoff but we still won the conference".

No. Literally NO Vol fan is sad about losing to Georgia and thus not winning the East, again.

They are all lamenting the South Carolina loss and the other random losses around the country. None of these fans have even mentioned the SEC title, and it's meaning.

But they were yapping about 'wanting' UGA again....😂 make that make sense......

Winning the SEC is always going to be big! Sure the National Championship is the ultimate goal but being the SEC Champs is automic respect and bragging rights no matter what happens nationally. Winning the SEC will always big BIG!!!!! GBO

You think the SEC will walk away from that revenue???? Now that’s funny! If the twelve team playoff has taught you anything, it should be follow the money, honey!!

Man. In this day and age of college football, nothing would surprise me. We gotta stay flexible and change with the times. Think about the guys in the 1930s. What would they think about todays game? They would hate it but like the great poet Bob Dylan once said, the times they are a changin

Long term you may be right but the conferences will not just want to forgo the championship game $. And the year Alabama rematched and beat LSU in the national championship game both the conference championship and the national championship lost it's "prestige".

But but but if we only had 12 teams....

I only have one response Go Vols
