who were sure James Pearce would not be highly ranked on CFB 25, because reasons? He's the No. 5 overall player in the game.Screenshot_20240712_102646_Chrome~2.jpg

You are obsessed my man, I continue to believe a Georgia fan must have kidnapped your mother at an early age.

Fair implied question. I have disliked uga for a long time, but my intense feelings for them resulted from two things:

1. The fans. Most passive aggressive, entitled, needy, whinny group of fans I have ever seen for any team; and
2. The shot on Tuttle's knee. I get that it could just be one dirty player, but to then put THAT player on the ticket for Tennessee the next season is an all time low-rent move by the program, and befits a program housed in a building called Butts-Mehre. That is what truly turned me.

No discernable traditions, no real identity, a helmet copied from another team, boring colors, boring mascot, cookie cutter stadium, grown men wearing studded dog collars and other gear while barking at cameras. The whole mess is just a ridiculous trash heap.

Yeah, not really sure what you’re trying achieve with this flex? Activity down in the recruiting forum regarding players both Tennessee and Georgia are after?

I agree with most of that, especially the Tuttle-Ticket thing. The main thing I have argued with people about over the years that is "pro-Georgia" is that Kirby is a really good football coach (not saying he's a good man or doesn't have a stupid haircut). It was evident after a few years that he was pretty good and he wasn't lucking into repeated Top 5-10 finishes. Some folks for whatever reason remained in denial about it for far too long. It was the same way with Spurrier initially too. It's probably the fact that they share grating personalities, punchable faces, and both wear visors alot. Spurrier is much funnier though.

it’s pretty simple. They aren’t going to intentionally rank a player poorly. But Tennessee fans online have more interactions than any other school in America. They definitely left us out of the top 25 on purpose. And Tennessee fans went crazy and it benefited EA sports.

UGA fans are some of the worst. I went to several games in Athens. I believe I was 40 the last time I went and had a family of 5 behind me trying to fight me just for cheering for the Vols. Luckily, the tickets I had gotten were from a TV sportscaster and his friends to the right of me stopped the crazies and apologized on behalf of UGA fans. Otherwise, I was ready to swing my way out of the stadium. Trash fans and trash school.

Their fans are the reason I can not stand Georgia. I lived in Georgia for 40 years and they were my second or third best liked team after Tennessee. Their fans were/are the obnoxious, self serving, fans in College football. I cheer for every team they play in any sport they play. My day one time, considered attending Georgia and I cringed at the thought she might actually decide to go ther.
When she finally decided she would attend Tennessee, I asked her why and she responded." I like Tennessee and Georgia about the same and if I go to Tennessee and don't like it there, I can always transfer to Georgia. Plus, if I go to Georgia, it is so close to home that Mom would want me to come home every weekend". She now has two sons in College. The older one attends Tennessee and the second one attends Ole Miss and its reporting there for football practice . The entire family are well satisfied with their collge experiences.

Aren't the team rankings basically a composite of the player rankings though? In any event, I agree we should have been 12-25 in their preseason team rankings, but where a team is ranked in the preseason is a lot more of a subjective exercise than whether or not James Pearce is a really good player. Typically only 10-15 out of the preseason Top 25 end up ranked at all, so it’s very hit or miss to prognosticate, every year. James Pearce is going to be high first rounder unless he gets hurt or commits some heinous offense. He was always going to get his due.

As I said above, I agree we should have been 12-25 in their preseason team rankings, but where a team is ranked in the preseason is a lot more of a subjective exercise than whether or not James Pearce is a really good player. Typically only 10-15 out of the preseason Top 25 end up ranked at all at the end of the year, so it’s very hit or miss to prognosticate, every year. I don't agree with it but we've had what 4 or 5 top 25 finishes in the last 16 years? We are still going to have doubters at this point. It is what it is.

James Pearce on the other hand is definitely going to be high first rounder unless he gets hurt or commits some heinous offense. He was always going to get his due ranking wise on this game. No doubt about that. It was 100% paranoia to think otherwise.
