I tried old links to glidden and they only have NFL now. Can anyone help? Closing on house next week and creating game room.

I've had it mixed before. It was either Lowe's or Home Depot, though. Can't remember which.

Lowes and Home Depot. I've bought it from both places. Runs me 30 bucks a gallon.

Also, if you have a correct color swatch, I believe HD or a quality paint store can scan it and color match.

If you call the Wal-Mart in Knoxville at Walker Springs, they may be able to give you the information on it. I know they used to have the specifics for creating the color.

Your local paint store- Sherwin Williams,Benjamin Moore or PPG should be able to match any color under the sun. Don't even bother with Lowe's or Home Depot

Any of the major paint stores can match Pantone colors because they all can match any color with their tint machines.

Pick your paint brand. Glidden, Sherwin Williams, Behr, what ever...

Pick the finish: gloss, semi gloss flat, egg shell, washable ...

I like washable eggshell walls and semigloss trim. I assume you'll use Tennessee white

Call the store and take paint chips of what you believe is Volunteer orange. Give them the data below they prefer.
Take chips with to the paint store.

Tennessee Orange

CMYK 0 50 100 0
HEX FF8200
RGB 255 130 0
PMS 151

Tennessee White

CMYK 0 0 0 0
HEX FFFFFF
RGB 255 255 255
PMS N/A

Tennessee Smokey Gray

CMYK 0 0 0 80
HEX 58595B
RGB 88 89 91
PMS COOL GRAY 11

Get two of so of the rollers with the nap recommended for your texture. 1-1/2" quality trim brushes.

Buy the cut in painter to get even lines at ceiling and trim, it's worth it.

The primer you use will affect the outcome so use their recommendation.

1. Patch, spackle, and sand
2. Prime, spackle, and lightly sand.
Prime again if major color shade change, inspect surface and spackle and lightly sand as needed, reprime those spots.
3. Two coats paint with light sand as required between.

I bet they've all mixed it before.

Not to change the subject too much, but since some painters have chimed in I thought I would ask. What brand paint do you prefer to use overall? I do a lot of my own painting around the house and I have found I love Benjamin Moore even though it's a little pricey. After that it Farrell Calhoun and then maybe Sherwin Williams. TIA.

Benjamin Moore. You can't beat their Regal line of paints. Their Ultra Spec line is a good mid level paint. After that it would be Devoe

Ive never heard of Farrell Calhoun, local brand? Our favorite here is a local brand called SolarProof, then Richard's is a good paint, imo. Benjamin Moore is ok too.

Richard's Holdzout primer is really good, it's like Kilz without the smell and it's water clean up

I deal with color all day...

Although PMS 151 is the official color you will want to use a little lighter shade when covering large surfaces. When all of that orange gets laid down it will look darker than it is. Easy example....look at a photo of Neyland when the crowd checkers the stadium. The orange is brighter when it is broken up by the white vs an all orange Neyland. Contrast is a big deal and i you don't have contrast you need to lighten then color slightly.

Either way I'm sure your room will look great and post some pics! Anything close the TN orange is beautiful.
