East and West SEC included, what school has the most success year after year in football. Where would you rank Tenn. at? Top three?

1. LSU
2. Auburn
3. Fla
4. Tenn

Depends on what time frame you are talking about. Hard to have a top 3 in recent years with Florida in and without UGA.

Agree, define the time period. All-time, we are second only to 'bama, followed closely by Georgia and LSU. Florida is a ways back because they weren't squat before 1990. Arkansas has had a lot of success historically, but not so much since joining the SEC in 1992.

In the past 5 years, LSU, Auburn, Georgia are all ahead of the VOLS. We are slightly ahead of Florida in the past 5 years b/c we at least played in the SECCG. However, they have pretty much caught up this year.

Definitely depends on the time frame.

If you just considering since 2000, I think LSU, UGA and Auburn have the lead.

If you're including the late 90's you have to add Tennessee and Florida and if you go back much past that Alabama would have to be up near the top.

As it stands right now...1-4 in no order

AUB
LSU
GA
FL

I think TN is still in chase mode trying to break into the top 4. Frankly, I don't see where next year will be that year either. But we'll see. LSU has a lot falling off; GA will be better; FL loses a lot on defense; and AUB seems pretty good.

i would say UGA, LSU, and Auburn are the tops right now. that's based on basically the last 5 years.

FL looks to be on the verge of maybe starting something again and breaking that up a bit...

And TN did win the East twice in that time span...but where they figure in? maybe fourth....no SEC titles out of those two appearances hurt....oh yeah, then there was the 5-6 year too.........

so excluding this year...UGA, LSU, Aub in that order.

On TN...they did got to the SECCG twice, but they also went 8-4 (bowl loss; unranked), 8-5 (bowl loss; unranked), 5-6 (unranked), and have one top 10 finish since 1998 (2001).

Based on that, I don't think they even sniff the top 4.

In this decade though, Tennessee has been more successful than Florida.

Maybe, maybe not.

FL won the SEC in 2000. They had the rough years in between just like we did. They'll get to the SECCG this year. So we will both have gone twice this decade, with FL winning at least one, maybe two. Based on that, I'd probably have FL above TN also. Zook really hosed them though for a while.
