Where does UT end up being ranked after National Signing Day on 2/6/08?

well i think there's three guys that we have a legitimate shot at that could really make this year in recruiting bearable

1. EJ Abrams Ward... feel free to speculate but he says its dead even

2. Enrique Davis... he's not going to recommit to Auburn and seems pretty excited about his visit and claims he would love to play w number 3... and we're the only common teams on their lists

3. Quinton Coples

We break the top 30 easily if CPF can pull that off :crossfingers:

I know my opinion is meaningless, but It will be hard to crack the top 30, imo.

Odds are, I think we will. I think we have a 50/50 shot at McClain, a 40/60 shot at Abrams-Ward, a 50/50 with Davis, a 25/75 shot with Harris, a 50/50 shot with Coples, 75 with Thomas, 25 with Wells, and a 60/40 with Mackey. I think if we sign 2 maybe three of those guys (Davis would really be a nice pickup) we break top 30.

Tell me if that looks right lol

We have some good commits, not highly rated but they are pretty solid. McClain is probably going to juco so if he commits to us i wouldn't garuntee ever seeing him in Orange. Davis is our best shot other than Thomas, imo.

Abrams Ward is 60-40 UNC, imo.

We've been out of the running with Mackey for a long time.

Yeah, I thought after we scrimmaged Hargrave we would pick up a lot of commits from there. Not the case. (yet)

HV, where is Marty Everett going? I knew we were his leader at one point. I think i remember you saying we weren't going after him as hard, that probably wasn't a good decision with the lack of DL commits.

Two 3*, three 4*, and a 5* would get UT to a 3.3 star average and 22 commits. That would get them in the top 20 more than likely. Replace the 5* with a 3* and they're just under 3.2 stars with 22 commits. That should put them just inside the top 25.

Otherwise it is hard to see them not making the top 30 if they sign 20-24 players unless they sign more 2* guys.

I think that 25-30 is a real possibility. The zero star will hurt us on that, though (from Raines, I believe).

Here's the list from last year. It takes about 1300 pts to get into the top 26. Most if not all the schools ahead of UT now except maybe Colorado are full or close to it. IF UT signs 2-4 more 4-5* players and round out a 22-24 recruit class with 3*... They'll have enough points to break into the top 25 and maybe top 20.

Champy... being kneejerk negative doesn't change mathematics.

Raines has been given 2* now along with Hughes.

Scout for whatever reason has both Raines and Gerald Williams as 1* players.

FTR, I'd gladly trade a top 25 class for 3 solid DT prospects.

Cool...thanks. I saw that Hughes was given 2* a few days ago (up from zero) ... but at that point, Raines was still a zero. That made me worry that he wasn't going to be evaluated/upgraded. Thanks for that update.
