Where is Dont’e Thornton?

As some else pointed out, let's give credit to Hype & the coaches for the play calling and making the needed adjustments to make the game a W for us. Find their weaknesses and go for it. Although we all love to see the bombs, and them playing back to stop it gave us more room underneath for the short throws and runs. I've seen too many games in the past where the coaches did not make the adjustments and just run into the line 3 times in a row for minimal gain. Aside from Sampson, do we really have the depth we need at running back? If he goes down then I'm very concerned where we'll be.
I think we have a wealth of running backs. The only fear is, one of the most talented of them is Lewis, a true Freshman. Our assistant coaches are the best group of coaches I have seen in a long time at Tennessee or an other College. Give Heupel a lot of credit for his coaching staff.

Meh... it would have been a very difficult catch. Keep in mind, TV slows things down. It is even faster in real time.
Maybe. But did he see the field after that? I don’t recall seeing him after that “attempt”.

We have some very talented WRs but we need a guy to step up and be the dude when we play someone worth a crap. Seems like they disappear at times.

I won't lie, the WRs concerned me a little. I know NC State played to stop the pass but good WRs find ways to get open and make big plays. Outside of Squirrel White, I didn't see that a lot Saturday night. Early in the game when Nico was dropping back, he got sacked or was forced out of the pocket on a couple of occasions but it really wasn't due to the pressure. He had time, it was clear no one was open.

I do think this is one of the hardest things for new teams to develop as the QB has to figure out the speed of each WR to know where to land the pass. Hendon Hooker wasn't making the 2022 Alabama game throws early in his QB career either.

Seldon was out for the game. (Don't know his actual injury, but he has two weeks to get healthy.) Bishop ran well as 2nd man, gave Sampson some rest. Keith mopped up at the end.
Possible he felt ready to play and after UTC he or the staff didn’t feel comfortable with his health at this point. I’ll say I have no idea but we need him healthy. Bishop has been pretty good for us. Seldon and Sampson I think both are better in the passing game. Keith is a great guy to just churn yards and time when the game is won and defenders are exhausted. We need all these guys healthy; hopefully Cam is back and fully healthy by OU.
