Where is Jalen Johnson?

247 says he transferred to Mercer back in May.
Yep . . . I was at the Mercer opener last week and there was a guy on the floor wearing a mask who I knew that I knew, but couldn't figure out why. I finally looked at the roster and figured out why he looked familiar.

Nah, I was just saying you liked JJ, nothing else

He was very impressive in the RTL at Bearden. He rarely had enough floor time to get on a roll at the TBA. IIRC, when he first started getting minutes his role was to feed the ball to the post players but his strength was really to be the guy receiving the pass on offense and going to work. He needs to take 15-20 shots a game rather than 2-3. If he’s avoided injury he could light it up at the lower level.

So many here claimed Barnes was an idiot for not playing him…transfers to Wake and doesn’t play much and now down a level to Mercer.
He tried to transfer to ETSU, then went with Forbes to Wake Forest. He played almost exactly as much there as he did here, and probably intended to get more playing time at a mid major before plans changed on him.

Every roster is unique. I wonder if he’s suddenly behind some really good additions at his spot. I barely follow TN recruiting. I’m certainly not paying attention to ETSU, Wake, or Mercer’s recruits.

I thought that he was really going to benefit from the freedom of movement rule changes/interpretations for offensive players that took effect a few years ago. Unfortunately SEC refs were inconsistent and seemed to allow some players to get tossed around without penalty. Then they would call touch fouls on the opposite end on players that were just assaulted seconds earlier.

I kid you not. In his second or third year here, with him still stuck on the bench, a guy argued with me that he was gonna be the next Michael Jordan on this forum.

Is that Ronnie Van Zant and somebody else high as hell ? In your avi, @Thunder Good-Oil

RVZ: “If you can’t smoke it or drink it the hell with it.”

Steve Gaines. Dude was destined to be an all-time great picker. Allen Collins was my favorite of the 4 real LS players, but SG had the most talent.

RVZ was the GOAT. Epic lyricist and performer. I hate that there isn’t more video of him and his band but Bill Graham was able to steal some footage when they played his venue. The black and white video came from him… claimed he was allowed to record any of the acts playing the Winterland.

Missing Billy Powell on this one:

Summer of 1977 with SG absolutely shredding:

1976 after Ed King left, but before Steve Gaines was added. Rare video missing the triple lead guitar:
