Looking at it objectively, this was a big win. Coupled with the Texas win, if the Vols can sweep a couple of other SEC teams and get a split with Kentucky, they're in the NCAA. Any other wins will be gravy and improve their seeding. Anyone agree...or disagree?

Right now UT is looking like a 4 or 5 seed I'd say.

My guess is that they would have to win the SEC tourney to get higher than a four. If you think the BCS is full of good ole boys wait till you start paying attention to the tourney selection committee.

Good point Lexvol. At least the team's that get in have a chance to leave it on the court tho.

Totally agree. At that point it is all about winning 6 games in a row. I would rather take a four or five and stay in the south or east than take a three out west, but that is where the selection com. really screws people.

BEER is one of the cleanest liquids you'll have thrown on you in Goberville, FL.

As far as family comments go, that kind of stuff has never bothered me. But when you have SEVERAL drunk orange & blue painted punks try to fight you and even slap you just leaving the dump (affectionally called the swamp by some) then that bothers me.

I've been there several times with friends from different SEC Schools, NO DIFFERENCE a bunch of drunk, spoiled, arrogant, ignorant & unclassy students appear to rule! The SEC should be required to do something about their fans, more specific their unruly students. Even traveling outside the South, they have a bad reputation and don't reflect well on the SEC.

My friend I openly dare you to attend just ONE game at the dump (swamp) then compare...

I don't want my views of the UF Swamp Thugs to keep the classy gators from posting here. The world...well at least UF needs to have classy gators reproduce before they become extinct. Assuming a willing classy female gator can be located. If UM raises the arrogancy bar higher than SOS did, I for one will campaign to remove them from the SEC.

Apologizies extended to the classy gator(s) wherever he is.

Just joking.

Oh my gosh, this thread is about lil' ole' me? Ha! I was at the show and did miss the game. In fact, didn't even find out score until yesterday (and even then I was told wrong). I posted a thread on here congratulating UT on the win and meant every word. I agree with those that say that, in the end, this was a good game for the SEC. Florida looking like a lock for the tournament now and I'd say that UT is in, barring a big collapse. And that is good news for the SEC overall.

Florida was going to lose somewhere along the way. In the end it will hopefully be something they learn from, that maybe they aren't all that, that playing on the road in this league -- even in a down year -- is tough. I really want to see what they do with UT come the return volley in Gainesville. And for sure I would rather the first loss be to an up and coming Tennessee squad than the usual tired Kentucky refrain.

Thanks to those who said such nice things. I do enjoy the banter on here and it rarely gets out of hand. I wouldn't stick around if it were oherwise.

By the way, some of my favorites from the Steven Wright show (there are hundreds but can't remember them all):

I bought a digital camera the other day that is so advanced you don't even need it.

Snakes don't have arms, that's why they don't wear vests.

I've noticed that ballerinas always stand on their toes. Why don't they just get taller ballerinas?

I'm a peripheral visionary. I can see into the future, just way off to the side.
