I was looking at the article on Banks by Adams at knoxnews and I E-mailed him and asked him who was in control and he agreed with me in the coaches are not worried about control all they are looking for is the next star of the team. Last I checked it took all 22 players to help win a national title not one person that is so over :bad:

What do you all think is the problem :dunno:

I have said for the last couple of years that the problem is that the coaches don't know what the problem is. I agree that we need to have more of the "team" mentality but I think some of that comes from the players not just the coaches.

Yes, but leadership is what reflects attitude if the coaching has a problem and will not reslove it so will the players somebody needs to take charge or it will be another bad season.

I think that Fulmer has gotten lazy. He won 2 SEC championships and a National title. He knows that even if things are not up to par, he still has a job. I also think that Fulmer is too loyal to his coaches (Col. Sanders), and he is too distracted(the Bama mess). The thing that has really upset me with FUlmer is after the Peach Bowl (again) when Fulmer was being interviewed about the lacluster performance he said "They wen't complaining when we beat Michigan in 2001". How can he say that? We sound like Bama, living in the past.

I'll have someone give him a call :D :D :D

He was one of my all time favorites.

We do need more discipline but I just don't know how much of that we will see out of Fumler and Sanders. I think Trooper and Chavis do their part.

I can live with the occaisonal loss to LSU or Georgia or even Auburn but I just can't get past those Peach Bowl games. That really gets me riled up when I think about it. And I was at both of those games.

Fulmer may be a good coach but as a coaching talent evaulator he's a flop(ie. See Stevens, Sanders, Washington and Slade). Now as for he ability to have a disciplined team forget it, His first bowl game showed what type of discipline he commanded. IF you notice when Peyton and Big Al left the discipline left with them. Since 1999 that part of UT teams have been missing and since 1999 UT's talent and offensive function has slowly eroded. Did you know that when Peyton and Al Wilson was on the hill and the UT police and even some KPD members went to them when there was a problem because they knew #1 there would be no repeat and #2 there would be punishment dealt out. Simce then there has not been good dedicated Leaders on the team and none willing to get in a screw ups face.

Good post TNVOLS1.

That's interesting about the police. I had never heard that.

I agree, we have not had a solid leader since Al. Even though I like Clausen, he said himself he was not very vocal.

LIO needs a dictionary for X-mas. OOPs! someone will have to volunteer to teach her how to use it. <_<

I think Casey was an ok leader as far as QB's go but you really need that mean nasty leader on defense like Al was. It's been a long time since I saw a guy on defense that could take over a game the way he could.

Big Al and Big John Henderson actually controlled the whole team as far as discipline. Remember Big John going off in Memphis throwing water coolers and telling the whole team they had better get their head on straight because he didn't plan to lose that game.

I will never forget the SECC 1997, Big Al chewed out everyone in the locker room at halftime, and they came out and played their butts off.
