can you just link the Drudge Report from now on and just tell us to take our best guess at your favorite story and whatever line you might use to voice your displeasure? Will at least be fun that way.

I did see a short piece on the differing tax rates paid by GE vs. companies like Target, Wal-mart, etc. I assume it was due to all manner of credits which GE can access but the effect was their rate was low single digits.

I do agree with Joe's basic premise that the double standard is at work again. GE gives massive amounts of money, gets some exemptions, gets defined in a way that allows them to get TARP bucks and now has a high-level WH position. If this was Exxon and the Bush WH things would be insane.

is this not something the Repubs asked for?

The Obama administration will spare a stalled power plant project in California from the newest federal limits on greenhouse gases and conventional air pollution, U.S. EPA says in a new court filing that marks a policy shift in the face of industry groups and Republicans accusing the agency of holding up construction of large industrial facilities.

and it doesn't look as if GE is being exempt as a company but rather this project got grandfathered in.

What's the outrage again?
