I have never been to commonwealth stadium for a game before. I am looking for a good but reasonable place to stay, hopefully with in walking distance of the stadium.
can anybody give me suggestions?
Thanks

we usually stay at the Hyatt when we go to Lex - it is next to Rupp and is a good walk to commonwealth but doable

depending on the weekend it can get pricey - but on a non-keeneland weekend it might not be that bad

Hope you find a good place OP. Dress warm, I live near TN/ky border, and the banter is, alot of ky fans will not go due to their record and the 7pm time, too cooold, but have fun, by halftime, you should be able to pick any seat you want.

I have stayed at the University Inn on Limestone and walked to the stadium before. Quite a hike, but not too bad.

Normally stay at the radison you can easly catch the bus to the game but its quicker just to walk back after unless you want an hour wait getting on the bus

UGH. 7PM at the end of November in Lexington. Do not want. Cut'em some slack and move it up to the 12:21 spot, the kids playing the game, that is. I've been to snow games, warmed by my good friend Woodford Reserve.

And I agree with the Hyatt

If by quite a hike you mean 7-10 minutes. The University Inn is probably the closest hotel to CWS. You can park at the library and walk as well.

If you can't find a hotel room, just knock on any door. Those KY hillbillies are always willing to share not only dwelling space, but a wife/sister/niece/daughter/cousin should the need arise.

"wife/sister/niece/daughter/cousin"

That's only one, he might be looking for multiple partners.

Not to many great spots to walk from, University Inn is the only one I can think of. Staying downtown (Hyatt/Hilton) will give you options for dinner and drinks. Other than that if you can stay anywhere on Nicholasville or Harrodsburg roads you'll be fine.

Brave the cold and Go Vols!

At one time, LexTran had a free shuttle from downtown to the stadium. I don't know if that's still on going.

Knock on any door... tell him you are a Kentucky Basketball assistant coach/ recruiter there to see a kid shoot hoops. You do that...and room, board, runny egg breakfast is free. F the reservations.

Please tell me you're cheering for UT this weekend.

Went to Lexington once and stayed at University Inn. It was back in 2007 when they almost beat us in the multiple overtime game. It's amazing after being in Neyland how small Commonwealth is. Also, got a lot of trash talk from the opposing fans. Probably because that was the year that UK had a fairly decent team, I would think their trolls are in hiding this year. Kind of sad, they thought that was THE year thinking back and then they beat us four years later with a WR at QB!

I stayed at some Embassy suites near a little lake. It was pretty nice! And the lake had an outdoor bar thingy..probably not gonna be open now..But you can get your hands on this Kentucky bourbon ale, pretty decent brew. Lexington is actually a pretty nice town.
