Did anyone else think it was odd that Assistant Coach Jolette Law did the post game commentary after the Mississippi State disaster? Holly was everywhere after the A&M win.

Not showing up at all was worse than Cam Newton getting up and leaving

That was odd. We still won't know anything regarding whether or not she'll return next season to after the NCAA Tournament. Maybe she sees that what she's doing is not working and think it's time to hang it up?

holly said she thinks we ended the season with a bang.

it was more like a thud.

Typical delusional Holly. I wonder if she really thinks the program is at a great stage? This was the worse season ever!

If your talking about on the Sportsanimal, it's not odd. It's a rule in the tourney. Assistant coaches only. The only interviews allowed of the players and head coach is the official SEC interviews.

if your talking about the after post game show with Mickey Dearstone during the tournament the head coach is not allowed to do the postgame interview. If you paid attention only the assistant coaches do the interview after the games, they don't have access to the student athlete either.

Same during NCAA - Holly won't be on post-game show with Mickey

Maybe Holly is trying too hard. Her body language during the interview is that of someone with a lot of pent up emotion.

Gary Blair said a coach can get emotionally involved in the student but can never get emotionally involved in the game.

After Holly's first NCAA loss, Pat had to tell Holly to "let it go".

Diamond: "The story of this team so far has been lack of effort which is what happened tonight."

Diamond: "I'm really proud of the way we played, we gave it all we had".

Curious.

No, these ladies haven't been playing hard. No they haven't, and some are still not playing hard, more players now than in the past but still not at the level to make to the final four, its like the one's who were playing hard at the beginning or middle of the season disappeared, mainly Russell and Cooper, well we know what Carter and Reynolds will give us, dribbling til 5 seconds left on the clock.

What else is she going to say, she's a part of the worst team in Lady Vols history?

Here's to a good NCAA tournament showing, remember when we were the tougher team.

Let's take it one game at a time, maximum effort, and please press.

That last quote is the play of the Lady Vols all season, they haven't been able to let go of the failure this season, they carry them with them from game to game, and in crunch time, its an added weight that crush em. Orange Crush, remember that?

As a coach, all you remember is the losses, and this the first time the lady vols has had this many losses and it prolly hard for her to get past em, it is unfamiliar territory for her, and I can see it her team's play.

Holly, needs to go spend some time with some deans of coaching this summer.

I agree. She appeared to be on the verge of breaking down as the interview started. She obviously cares a lot about the team and UT. Unfortunately, she is not getting the results from the talent on the roster.

I think you misheard that first quote, she meant lack of effort was not the problem against Mississippi State.

As others have mentioned, SEC and NCAA rules prevent the head coach from doing the radio interview during the postseason. Head coaches are obligated to be at the press conference, then in an open locker room, and are not allowed to do radio. It has been that way as long as I can remember.

You are correct. I went back and listened to it again and she says: "The story of this team so far this season has been lack of effort (pause) which we had tonight."

Big difference. Thanks for the correction.
