He was a failure of epic proportions. Could not run a program, could not manage players, could not do anything. Keep up the hard work, you're rolling.

I said he failed. "Epic proportions"... probably not... but he failed badly and it got worse as he let it sour his attitude with everyone around him.

Even so... only a kid or a moron believes that failures cannot be overcome even to the point of being VERY successful. I've failed. I've achieved some pretty significant things too.

The only way you are 30 and haven't experienced something similar is if you haven't reached very high... are an incredible brown noser or still live in mom's basement.

Interesting you were born in 87 - I was a student at UT in 87 and played varsity sports at UT during those years (won't disclose which sport). By the way, this also decreases the chance that I'm Barbara (in spite of people insisting calling me that when I go defending her son ).

I've thought about that, too. And I'm not sure anybody knows that answer. I point to one of the biggest differences between Dooley and Jones: connections. Jones brought almost all of his guys from Cincy when he left. Dooley only had only 1 maybe 2 guys I can remember off hand that he carried here from LA Tech. The rest of the staff, in hindsight, came sort of duct taped together. I think the main reason he got fired was for off the field results. The local media hated him, former players hated him, even some of his own players hated him.... You just can't hang around long if you're rubbing the right people the wrong way
