One is sort of cheating and one is gamesmanship. I don’t get Saban hiring that guy, but whatever helps I guess . If it were us Heupel would be a genius.Which CHEATING is Worse?
Michigan stealing other team’s “signals”
or Alabama stealing a recent Coach from the VERY team that they are getting ready to play?
— You don’t think they’ll get any “signals” or “inside information” from THAT???!!!!!!!!
Their LB coach is leaving for State so he’s likely the replacement. Get him on now and maybe get a slight advantage then slide him into his new role. One is sort of cheating and one is gamesmanship. Butch Jones isn’t the reference. Alabama hired someone who has coached at Michigan in 2021, 2022. Bama plays Michigan in the rose Bowl on Jan 1.So the reference is to Butch Jones being hired by Alabama. It is very shady but not illegal. I will entertain the argument that may it should be against NCAA rules?
Only counter would be that each Coaching Staff brings a new strategy and in some cases, coaching staffs will even change their play style from season-to-season so taking a coach from another program is probably not that much of a win from a figured out a team strategy perspective.
In some ways, Tennessee probably got more intel by hiring Pruitt than Alabama did from hiring Jones or another fact is Alabama knew Pruitt's coaching style from his time coaching there and at Georgia.
Most programs cheat, at varying degrees. They don’t do what Saban has done for the last 20 plus years. What Saban/Bama have going to too impressive (I loathe them btw) to belittle their success . I’m sure they cheat some, but so did we, so did so many others. How many bball programs like UK have almost surely broken rules, yet they don’t do THAT? I don’t think Bama even needs to at this point, as far as doing anything outside the lines, with the landscape what it is.No, but cheating is definitely a part of it.
If you do not understand that Alabama plays by a different set of rules then there is no hope for you. If the SEC does not have a rule to cover Bama wants then they will create one.Let me guess. The only reason Baja has built the greatest dynasty in college football history is because of cheating right?
He was on Saban's staff previously and followed Pruitt to FSU and UGA. He’s from FL and played at Ole Miss so he knows the Southeast and Saban’s system. In all likelihood he’s the new LB coach, replacing Bama’s current LB coach who’s set to become the DC at Miss St. I believe this is more than a troll hire, he just so happened to work at Michigan prior.I hate Alabama just as much as I hate Michigan, however for different reasons. But I digress…this means Jack nothing. It’s intended for a troll job. This guy brings nothing to the table that any respectable coach couldn’t pick up on film. I would wager that Saban will spend less than a half work day even speaking to this guy between now and kickoff. But I would bet money if I could prove it, that Saban knows that the resident college football wacko Jim Harbaugh, will spend countless hours analyzing anything and everything that this guy might possibly be able to pass on in meetings, and he is laughing his ass off every night as he goes to sleep. My best prediction-Alabama by 17.
All of what you said is true, but the coach he is thought to be replacing will remain on staff throughout the playoffs. I’m not saying it will matter in any way whatsoever, I just think that Saban knows that Harbaugh will think about this at least once an hour from the moment it was announced until kickoff. Because Harbaugh is nuts like that.I highly doubt that. Mich will change everything up and that hire will be irrelevant. Coach's do it every year, it's not anything new.
