To my knowledge there isn't something like that out there, at least not yet. But about 95% of all recruits from Texas that are interested in UT will have WMG as their lead recruiter.

ok thanks. i will just keep readin these newspapers hoping to find anything then. most of these kids are focused on offense it seems. maybe get some receivers and qb's next year. 7 on 7 is HUGE and getting bigger in the state

Texas HS football is good, but no better than florida and parts of georgia, alabama and louisiana. However, the quantity is greater than all except for florida and california. Recruiting texas will be tough... we just don't get a whole lot of exposure down here and we're not real close by. Historically, well, at least over the past 20 years, we've pulled maybe an average of 1-2 kids a year from Texas, but few were highly sought after by the big schools in this region.

IIRC, exceptions would include the safety from Dallas Carter that was mentioned in friday night lights (the book... and went to jail before he could get to Knoxville), Brandon Stewart, and recently, Lennon Creer.

Texas' MO is to give kids offers and ultimatums after camps. In fact, they already have 10 commitments for the 2010 class.

DFW. try to follow allen, southlake, trinity as well as stephenville where i went to school. really liked watching sneed. thier coached quit and went to austin. just coached the 5A champ QB who signed with texas. lots of qb's down here

My girlfriends family is from that area, and we go there every now and then. She actually from Midlothian (sp?)(the same town that bryce petty is from). Its a little south of DFW i believe.

I was just about to post that last part. They have the luxury of having tons of talented in-state kids that dream of playing from them, so they offer a bunch early and it's first come first serve.

i agree. however alot of the kids that gave LSU the "best" recruiting class the last couple of years are kids from the houston area. just made me think if we do really well this year, why cant we get some of the kids from there? also most of the state champions in both divisions of 4A and 5A come form the DFW area. again there has to be at least 3-4 kids every year that could really help at UT. i think we could get some real good kids from here in the coming years.
coach says he wants to get teh best kids in the country to start putting UT back on thier wish list. is texas on his radar? or does he mainly want to stick to the east coast (Va and NC) the south and CA?

Went to Allen back in late 80's. We didn't have a great FB team then but I heard that it has really grown alot. Haven't been back since we left for O-H-I-blows. Hope to pull some talent from there though. Alot of good athletes from that state.:eek:k:

Must be nice to just have a team full of talented and highly rated kids from your own back yard that grew up dreaming to play for your school. Used to be that way here, just with a lot less kids.

I remember when we were sweeping the recruiting board (around mid to late 90s), we did pull a few top Texas kids to play for us. I remember reading a story about those blue-chippers from Texas, but they were not used to the life in Knoxville. Most of them transferred back, and I remember specifically an OL (maybe DL) player transferred back to SMU (maybe TCU) after only one year in Knoxville. Can anyone corroborate my story?

I think these two states are head and shoulders above the rest but as far as a direct comaparison, those figures may not really speak to a better qualtiy in TX as much as just a larger population base. I think TX has about 6+ million more people in the state than does FL.
