I know us winning a NC and beating a Saban coached Bama would be tops, but which is better....The midget going to Texas or him playing us at Neyland next year?

Bama losing their Messiah is better for Tennessee in the long run.. Getting Saban out of the SEC is better for everyone besides Bama..

While watching the Texas fans beat their chests around me wouldn't be very enjoyable... watching the bammers wallow in misery would make it worth it.

A Bama supporter told me they will match anything Texas offers and Saban wasn't going anywhere. I would consider him a credible source, a Bama graduate and businessman.

We have our supporters too. It was info from our supporters that led me to know who our coach would be last year way before the announcement. Oh, wait...

He is not taking the job and clearly wants a raise. If he was really going to Texas, his agent would not have put it out there and it would have been hush hush.
The midget stays and hopefully pays the price in Knoxville next year.

Saban leaving is all well and good, but they've got the cash to hire an excellent coach to replace him, and all of that talent means they're going to stay good. The next coach would have to be a real howler to screw that up.

Him leaving Bama and then is beating the brakes off them the following year would be tops but neither will happen.

Yes they have talent now but thats because the kids want to play for Saban. They could hire anyone they wanted too but I guarantee they would see a dropoff in recruiting and over the course of 3-5 years their depth would fall back to that of a normal team.

is his wife shopping for a new house somewhere ? they could be like CUMs wife,while they were with the Utes,they said they weren't going anywhere, while there house was put on the market,now there is some family values

Saban doesn't want or need a raise, dollar wise. Ego wise yes. Texas would give him keys to the state if he wanted, so would Ala. Saban would like to be the first to win NC's at 3 different BCS schools. IMO he goes to Texas when the new AD there gets MB to retire at season's end. TIFWIW.

Like another poster said Saban doesn't need to do anything to get a raise. All he has to do is walk into the ADs office and say I want more money and the check will be cut on the spot.

Hopefully Saban thinks Texas would be more of a challenge and takes off.

The best scenario is that they finally get caught cheating, vacate their titles, and he runs to the NFL like Carroll.

But before that happens, he loses his last Tennessee game. :)

Saban will be in Knoxville next year with a better team than we have again; sadly. He is not going to Texas unless they gave him the AD job as well. They supposedly have selected the new AD already so Saban is staying put.

Why did his agent go public instead of just keeping it under ther radar? Why......More money in Saban's pocket equals more commission in his agent's pocket.

Seems like I heard from different sources that Texas is swimming in money. Alabama could probably match anything up to a point. However, I believe Texas is prepared to go far beyond that point to get Saban.......regardless of what Saban says. Most all high profile coaches will say that they are as happy as clams right where they are......usually a few days before they are introduced as the "New" Head Football Coach .....somewhere else!

I'm guessing Texas could offer Saban 15 or 20 million dollars and Alabama would balk at that!
