It's really a matter of opinion. Both scout and rivals have there strengths and weaknesses. With that said, all around as far as recruiting services go I'd have to go with rivals...

I have always gone with Rivals over Scout. It seems like they grade the players tougher. But either one is significantly better than ESPN.

Scout loses credibility automatically based on the number of ***** they give out, imo. So rivals wins. And some of the people they have listed as 3-stars are ridiculous ratings.

I wonder how many would be saying Scout in this topic if they had us rated higher right now...?

rivals because they rank us higher - i get excited when we have a column about us because espn rarely says anything about ut, rarely anything good for that matter

I think you would get a better representation if you averaged the two. Scout is more stingy with the stars IMO, and Rivals plays to the popular H.S. programs. Keep in mind all of this is IMO.

Rivals

There are several threads from last week detailing the differences. Out of all of it, I determined my answer above.

Why does everyone hate the ESPN rankings?

They have Palardy as the #15 kicker. They don't rank JUCO. They are always way behind on recruiting. Rivals is easily best, not just because we are higher either. Look at Scouts top 5 players in the coutry compared to Rivals top 5 over the past several years. Rivals was much more accurate in their assesments than Scout. Even ESPN is more accurate than Scout in some cases.

How is Scout more stingy with stars? Last time I checked, Scout gave out probably twice as many 5* as Rivals.
