Which is more bizarre high school story?

Rush Propst multi family.

"Hurricane Harvey" the grown man pretending to be a hurricane refugee enrolling to play high school ball.

Bishop Sycamore fake school.

The fake school.

Propst is one person who fooled his family. The dude who pretended to be a teenager is one dude who fooled a few school administrators.

The fake school, on the other hand, involves dozens of people conspiring together in a crazy fraud, who then convinved several key decision makers in multiple organizations that they were legit. It's completely insane in the Internet Age to be able to pull that off.

Did no one Google this school? Google some high schools around Tennessee; I guarantee most of them have a website. Certainly, any important enough to be a national football power would have one. How did no one realize this was fake?

I am sure the Bishop Sycamore thing will get the most votes at it is recent.

There have been some other doozies out there in the past.

My personal favorite was the kid who had a big hoopla scheduled for signing day at his school. Media everywhere.

He did the big drama thing with multiple hats in front of him-finally picking up one. No problem right? One of the reporters from the kids town contacted the head coach at the "chosen" school for some comments about the kid. The coach had never even heard of the kid before lol.

Remember the guy in like 2010 that pretended he had tons of offers from D1 schools for football then held a ceremony at his school to pick his school. I think he “chose” Oregon. Turns out nobody had even heard of the kid

Occasionally, football coaches turn out to be bad human beings. Creating a fake identity and living it is crazy, but I can see how it could happen. But…. Creating a fake school, a fake team and getting onto ESPN has to be the nuttiest thing I’ve ever heard.

Should have went for broke and got Manti Teo as his DC.

The Bishop Sycamore story is wild because it's amazing that any legitimate schools would ever agree to play them. But the fact that they were able to get in with this marketing firm and get on ESPN is absolutely crazy.

I know very little about IMG. Are they even in a high school conference or anything in Florida? Looking at their schedule, it looks like they basically play other high schools which are supposed to be for "elite" recruits. Probably not a large number of those high schools around.

They are a sports academy. From their website, it looks like they actually field 4 different football teams. They have a National team, Blue and White teams which looks like the traditional varsity/jv, and a post graduate team. Only the varsity competes in the Florida high school football playoffs. Bishop Sycamore played the National team.
