CLK was up front with several recruits/commitment that they did not "FIT" the system he's implementing.

Not sure if I have seen a thread on which players don't FIT. Any thoughts?

I think this is a good thread.

I have heard buzz that Warren doesn't fit in the Kiffin TE mold but more of an H-back or slot WR. Not sure about anybody else I am sure their are plenty more

I would say that any player that did not buy into continuous improvement and participate in workouts when scheduled or displays a bad attitude or prefers to act more like a "thug" rather than a Tenn. Vol will definitely not be a good fit for CLK.

I think the OP is stating more like their body size or playing style not matching the way the Kiff's organize their gameplans at positions...

I would say Nick Reveiz because of his size (Big Orange heart excluded).

Reveiz isn't much smaller than Gary Brackett, a MLB in a Tampa 2 Defense.

That doesn't go to say, however, that Kiffin will actually employ a true Tampa 2 here. Just saying there are definitely smaller MLBs in the NFL in Kiffin's system.

disagree. A wrecking ball on ST is always needed. He'll see the field

Then you agree that Reveiz doesn't fit the Defensive system.

With that said, I don't think Reveiz will see much of the field on Defense.

Kiffin has seemed to prefer a larger MLB in his defense. Barrett Ruud and his predecessor are both much larger than Reveiz. I realize we are comparing college to pro players but he is still undersized for the MLB position in CMK's defense.

I don't know but to be honest I wouldn't bet against him. From what I've read, he works as hard as anyone out there and that should get him a look. We are also discussing a walkon

I agree. I think Reveiz's downfall would be his athleticism (not up to par from reports), not his size.

I don't want to shoot down Reveiz, but I hope that Donald is our starting MLB next year.

Hard work will go far, but I don't see Lane rewarding hard work with a starting position if there is a better player out there.

Askew, for all we know, could step on campus and fall directly into the MLB spot.

In that case, do you think G. Williams and Chris Donald are more likely to play MLB next year?

I always thought that with his speed and size,Gerald Williamswould have been a nutural at MLB. He played the positon in JUCO and understands it. I think that had he not been able to play until after the season had strted last year because of his transfer credit situation, he and not Ellix Wilson would've been the man to roam the middle. I feel like Chris Donald or, should we land him, Jerod Askew will be the man in the middle since both have years of eligibility remaining and would be able to grow into CMK's system. IMO, Gerald Williams will be a pass rush spcialist off the edge in passing situations.

This is actually very true. The coaching staff has already talked to Warren about this. He's apprently gotten quicker, and is in the process of losing a little weight. He'll be slot receiver this season.
My source is my brother-in-law who is good friends with Brandon.

any fat-bodied O linemen.

Those don't fit most systems.

Agree but to my knowledge he has not told any OL they don't fit. His don't fits recruits have been QB or RB.

So looking at the Crompton, Stephens and Coleman I think the only FIT from these guys is Crompton....don't think he would have recruited the other two. But with that said I think Stephens will be our starting QB.

I think the better question is who does fit CLK's system.

BJ and Crompton are "pro".....not professional....."style" qb's. They may work better in the new scheme than they did in last years misary. Creer seems to fit in well. Speed, decent hands, and can (sometimes) run between the tackles. Hardesty will get alot of inside carries.

My big question is with the WR's. How many 6'4" slot guys do we have like he had at USC? My opinion on Marlon Brown is well documented (overated as a gamebreaker) but would fit CLK's system. What about Jones/Moore? Can they fit into a Steve Smith role. Smaller, but fast enough to be that guy? They don't have his hands.

i would guess around 70 percent of this team does not fit his system.lets see how well he adapts to the the hand he was dealt.
