lol at this troll...
Oh, I'm a troll now? Just because I refuse to be wowed by the underwhelming recruiting efforts so far this year. "lol" indeed.

You're a recruiting expert. Explain to me how commenting on missing on most of our primary targets, many of which to our main rivals, and losing current commits is trolling.
The theoretical strength of this staff is supposed to be recruiting. Yet they are getting worked by Auburn, Florida, Florida State, among others.

I'm no Fulmerite. I want this staff to succeed. But when I see the lack of results, I call it out. And I'm not going to spin the fact we got a commit from a 1-star CB as a great news just to obscure the revalations that we could easily lose out on Ambles and Michael Taylor. Admit it. Things aren't so great on the recruiting front right now.

Plus, that Powell kid is 5'6", runs a 4.8 40, and has offers from New Hampshire and Portland State. And he's still rated higher than Marques Dixon.

Wow are you really comparing that guy to M. Dixon? Do a little research bud, and while you're at it, don't let the door hit you in the arse on the way out.

I mean i really wish we knew who we had a ligiti shot at... not who we would LIKE to have. i think reality is starting to set in after we all where on cloud nine and thought we would rebound like alabama did and i just dont see that happening now with all the NCAA crap and kiffin getting in trouble over and over again

I think the reality is that we are going to kill it on signing day. There are probably 150 guys that we would LOVE to sign, but reality is that we can only get less than 30. We will probably get only one of these guys or possibly another highly rated player out of left field. As Hulk Hogan once said, "Keep the faith bruther!"

WOW VOlsfan55 Who is that on your avatar? Can we get her as a Hostess for the 2010 season? I'm just sayin...

Being I live here in San Antonio and the chatter is none stop about A. Dixon I truly believe this could be a big pull for the Vols when NSD comes around. Ala Janzen and Brown. As LV always says just be patient trust the coaches and their "plan" and look forward to seeing Rocky Top all night long next year when we beat Florida!

P.S. I am currently trying to decide between joining the member services of Volquest or Scout.com any suggestion from the masses in the know. Do I trust Rivals more or Scout? Rival always seems more optimistic for any team especially Tenn and I like positive!

Wow @ people who think we get Dixon at this point. Kid has all but said we are a distant 3rd right now and all signs point to Bama if he goes anywhere.

It very much seems that Volnation is divided right now between realists and optimists. I have to admit, if we do not have one kid put on the Orange T cap at either High School game that does not help our cause very much. I don't care how much press you get from Lil Wayne, kids selecting those caps on NSD goes along way. I am trying to take a wait and see approach, but we definitely seem to be sliding the wrong way right now.

And, if you would back up long enough to look at the big picture, you would realize that we went from 5th to 11th to 7th in a matter of days with recruiting. This is not a race you lead the whole race. Its where you finish up. Last year is not typical, but is a good example of late surprises in recruiting. Also, take a look at the "leaders" in the rankings. Please pay attention to the total number of recruits they have. We cleaned up our list with the moving on of Jose 2 and other DTs and non qualifiers. With the addition of a kid who didn't play his JR year (huge disadvantage in the ranking system) we jumped 4 spots from 11th to 7th Rivals. Look at the big picture and don't focus in on the now too much. Also, star struck is not too important. I liked the posts on TOS about 3*s at Bama outnumbering ours right now. Go VOLS!

Been in his thread lately?

you mean the Dixon thread?

Yes, and if you are putting your eggs in the JB basket you are going to be empty handed.

He is at the bottom of the credibility list and taking 3rd hand information is nothing more than a rumor. Just because someone who spoke with Dixon thinks we are at the top means nothing. He could have just said he likes us a lot and that person took it as we lead.

You should have known all of this by the fact LV didnt rush over here and say we lead. He said he hopes hes right but thats it.

Recruiting 101, until the recruit says it himself, its BS.

I agree, I'm typically inclined to even believe that prospect quotes verbatim should even be taken with a grain of salt until the LOI is signed, sealed, delivered and Dixon falls into that category with me.

I just think there's a lot of backbuilding going on with him and that even if you could get a quote from Dixon that said UT leads or that UT is a distant 3rd, I wouldn't really believe either one straight away so I don't see anything wrong with rampant speculation on him.

Right but when it comes to JB saying UT, or Rivals saying Bama, Im going with Rivals. :good!:
