It's a 5 way tie between Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU and us.

Aww...As blasphemous as this is...Georgia fans have always been really nice to me. Regardless of where we were playing.

LSU fans by far. No matter where I run into an LSU fan and football comes up they get nasty. UF fans are second followed closely by UGA fans. I live close to Athens and since Richt came UGA fans have come out of the woodwork wearing the red and black stuffed for years in the attic with years of attitude to make up for.

I've never experienced any of them live at a game, but of the ones I've encountered online, Alabama and Florida's are the most unbearable.

I've actually got along very well with the few LSU fans I've met on the internet.

why not us? all we do is complain about how bad we are. now the tickets arent selling to neyland and so on and so on.

Got to vote for UGA. Since they have had some success, the cockyness has come out. Most of the ones I know here in the Nashville area don't even drive to Athens, so I don't put alot of stock in what they say. I think most of them are really mad about losing there state to uncontrolled growth. Atlanta is such a mix that the real Georgians have given up and want to move somewhere else. They see Tennessee as a place of quality living and move here.

Ok, I have never seen that before and I grew up going to LSU games.

I would say UT and UF. We have some piss poor fans and florida fans just annoy me.

Bama fans in the stadium are ok, actually pretty courteous. The ones driving around the state in their pickups listening to the game on their radios are pretty bad!

I think that how you answer this question depends upon what you consider the "worst" qualities in a fan. If you define a bad fan as a shameless homer who is verbally (maybe even physically) abusive to opponents and opposing fans then I would have to agree that UF and Bama are near the top. Unfortunately, I would also have to include UT fans in that trifecta of obnoxiousness. My definition of the worst fans is little different though. Here are a few of the things that I believe qualifies Vandy fans as the worst in the SEC:

1. Ever hear Vandy fans talk about their team? They rarely talk VU football and if they do they generally just run their team down.
2. Ever notice how many visiting team's fans get into Dudley field? I can't tell you how many VU fans will buy season tickets and then knowingly give them away to people who they know are going to come into Dudley and cheer against the Dores.
3. Go to a Vandy game some time. You can hear a pin drop most of the time Vandy is on defense.
4. There is truly a superirority complex at Vandy. I have been to games where the Dores are losing and the student section starts chanting "You'll work for us" or some similarly obnoxious statement.

I am sure I could come up with some more and maybe I will if this thread has legs.

Hell, they have a right to be proud of their educational status. That beats the hell out of an undefeated football team anyday. That's pretty funny they do that, I have never heard of that before.

Vanderbilt is the ONLY SEC place I would take my young children to see a game. That speaks well of Vanderbilt, and poorly of my alma mater.

I do not have kids so being in an environment where I am surrounded by drunk, profane humans who are looking for an excuse to kick someone's a$$ really does not bother me. I think this thread should be retitled as:

Who has the most offensive fans in the SEC; or

Who's fans scare me the most.

i live in bama , and have family who are bama fans... so i had the good or bad forutne to be invited to see bama/lsu 2 years ago... the year lsu split the championship with USC... anyhow, down there at bryant-denny or whatever its called... the lsu fans who had made the trip were terrible. they were starting fights in the street, they were trashing the campus and setting park benches on fire... it was awful... ive never seen a visiting team act in such a way.

credit to the bammers though, they put on a class show inside the gates, but all the rednecks all over town were a different story. if you go catch a game at bama, eat before you go and head str8 home after....

I've got to put my vote on Georgia fans being the worse, live here and have to listen to their crapola, besides they beat to death that poor Florida guy... we were in Disney last week and saw on the news where they'd had his memorial and several Georgia people had been arrested... that's the absolute pits and so unnecessary....

GO VOLS.... GO BIG ORANGE...
