Probably 3 most talented teams in last 10-15 years. 2022 team seems like the deepest, 2024 went furthest in tourney and probably has best player, but personally I think 2019 still most balanced and probably wins best of 7 series.

All the 2019 team has to do is throw it to Admiral or Grant and they win.

Don’t think anyone on this team is stopping them. They would probably bully JJJ and Aidoo. If Knecht plays like he did against Purdue, then maybe.

I think last year’s team was the most accomplished in the end, but I had the same first thought as Trippie. Grant and Admiral are getting whatever they want down low against Aidoo. Bowden at least would’ve put up a fight against Knecht

Nice assessment! 99.3% agree. We bring home the hardware and I'm on a different boat. Best team ever. This is a scrappy team full of heart. Let's Go 2024 BaseVols!

I may be remembering the wrong team, but didn’t that team squeak by a lot of games? Also, we absolutely dominated one of the best SEC conferences college baseball has seen this year. Did we even drop a series to anyone? Then there are the records, the SEC reg and tournament championships. AND we are playing for the natty. I don’t see how any Tennessee team is compatible to what this Tennessee team has done this year.

I love Bowden as much as the next vol fan but he’s not checking Dalton. That’s a nightmare matchup for Bowden.

Knecht definitely will get his. I think Admiral could give him a little trouble with how physical he is. I think 2018-2019 just had a loaded team and tons of scoring options if Grant wasn't feeling it one night.

I love last years team, and I'd say Knecht was our best player from any of those teams, but who was going to stop Grant on this team? JJJ is a great defender, but Grant was unlike any post player he had to guard. Jordan bone is probably overall better than ZZZ, Admiral vs Knecht would great matchup, though I bet bowden and Mashack would have been guarding each respective player. Would be a great series.

18/19 was not a great defensive team. They were barely top 50 on KP and an inability to defend the three was the sole reason they were eliminated in the S16.
Interesting. That's not how I remember that team. Anything top 50 is still good but it seems like we have been top 5 forever.

Yeah that team being considered a great defensive team is one of my biggest pet peeves. They were average on D and absolutely abhorrent on that end the entire tournament that year.

Calling your own fouls, Awaka would have been fun to watch go at it w/ Grant. Now Grant is gonna get his, but talk about NO back down from either guy. That'd be a MMA bout. lol
