I don't blame him... There's a lot more offensive talent and potential to work with at Arizona.

Unfortunately the Bidwell family doesn't seem to want a winner. Once there is new ownership in place they might have a chance.

well, i have mixed feelings. i like Wisenhunt. his offensive mind is a bit different than what is thought of as "steeler football". and that's not a bad thing considering we don't have the RB's we'd like to have to be that physical run oriented team (how good would jamal lewis look in black and gold????!!!!)

but...i think the Steelers got what they wanted actually. i think they are really high on russ grimm, and i'll be surprised if he doesn't get the nod. he's more of a "steeler guy" of Cowher's mold....they didn't want to appear to be undercutting Wisenhunt hanging him out to dry by hiring Grim before Wisenhunt got done with his interviews. basically they are taking the stance that they never wanted KW to begin with, and that this actually worked out for the best........but who knows.

personally, i don't like it. but the Rooney's have not made too many mistakes in the past, so i'll defer to them on this one.

what i'm really anxious to see is what they do in free agency and in the draft. they need personnel more than anything. the Defense is getting a little long in the tooth, and they don't have the offensive weapons they did a few years ago. they don't have a WR that can stretch the feild, they don't have a RB that can pound out yardage. they don't have a completely physically dominating Offensive line like they did a couple of years ago....

basically, they need some speed on offense on the outside, and some durability on defense. if they do that, with the core of young players they have now, and the veterans they have right now, they'll be fine.

the one big mistake they have made of late is the acquisition of Deuce Staley. talk about a huge bust. they pinned their rb situaion on him panning out and it did not work out...Naje Davenport? serviceable yeah, every down back? no. and as much as i love Willie parker, he's either going to run for 230 or 50. there is no consistency with him. one minute he looks all world, the next, not so much. and as much as i like having former vol Cedrick Wilson on the team, he's been pretty hit and miss too, and has not provided as much offense as they really need.

and dont' even get me started on the secondary. they were awful this year.

that's what Denny Green thought too...............

having said that, i think KW will bring a whole nother attitude to the cards....that was a good hire.

Once Arizona's offensive line gets its act together (and they can, it is a very capable bunch), the Cardinals may very well have the top offense in the whole league. Edge, Matt Leinart, a top-notch group of receivers and tight-ends... What's not to love? Especially with Seattle slipping, the NFC West is there for the taking. I think the Cardinals win it next season.

I agree that the Cardinals have a lot of potential on offense, but I think Edge's best days are behind him.

again, not disagreeing with you, but that's what a lot of people thought would happen this year.

you are also correct about the offensive line. that's what they currently lack if they want to be a real contender.

it's a show me kind of thing. it's all there...but until they actually do it.....:whistling:

i'm not going to quote your response to me jakez, but thanks. I wondered the same. I initially assumed it was grimm's for the taking until i started talking to people who were all about whisenhunt.

it is curious though that they have not made a move yet...kind of lends me to believe they have their eye on someone still in the playoffs. IF grimm was "the guy" i'd think they'd of made a move by now.

I thin Ron Rivera of the bears, i think that's him, is one they are keying on....so i don't know that there will be any kind of announcement one way or another until the bears are done and they can interview the guy.

...and Grimm goes to Arizona, too.
i am not shocked at all. i figured after he didn't get the HC job, if KW wanted him, he'd follow.
plus i got to think the new HC in pittsburgh is probalby glad this happened....no reason to have someone on the staff that might resent you....though i'm sure Tomlin probably would have let him go anyway.....

i wish him and KW the best of luck in the desert. it will be interesting to see how they develop that offense.

Yeah, they actually did spend a good chunk of change on offensive linemen. They are just a good coach away from pro bowl status.

For the sake of argument.......where are the future pro bowlers going to come from?

Leonard Davis? He is going to have to lose a lot of weight off of a 365 pound frame.....

Milford Brown?

Nick Leckey?

Deuce Lutui?

Reggie Wells?

Elton Brown and Alex Stepanovich could be sleepers.
