Basketball is in the mix with Rick Barnes at the helm. Obviously haven't gotten over the Final Four hump yet but a consistent Top 10/Top 15 program rattling off six in a row come March shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. The problem is, of course, that holds true for a lot of other programs who have had even more success.

Football has a good chance over the next two seasons depending on how Nico pans out. At the bare minimum, I'd expect a playoff trip in the next three years.

If Kim Caldwell comes out of the gate swinging this year and can get super talented recruits capable of playing her brand of basketball, I'd be surprised if the Lady Vols don't win one in the next four or five seasons.

After winning a NCAA Championship in baseball, i say Tony will have a ton of recruits and portal players to choose from. So i say baseball for now. But i think basketball is closer than football. CJH has a big roster to build. And he is doing just that. I also think coach Kim Caldwell will get the Lady Vols back to where they belong.

Agree...in BB, Barnes is right there...luck of the draw, healthy roster, peaking at right time. Baseball had clearly best team in country and finished the drill...round robin, 2 of 3 series advancement helps also...would have sucked to get eliminated by Evansville under basketball format...also makes sure best teams advance. In Basketball it's such a perfect alignment of the stars to avoid getting upset in lower rounds...for all top level teams.

the women's rowing team finished 3rd in the country this year. They get my vote for next Natty (even though there is no Natty in Rowing)

You are very competitive in the major 3. Thatโ€™s really the main thing, NCโ€™s are impossible to accurately predict. Itโ€™s gotta be nice to know youโ€™re in the mix in the major 3 though.

Iโ€™m glad that GA is finally showing a little strength in basketball and again in baseball. Not nearly ready to complete for a NC, but enjoyable to follow their season and vastly improving.

And again, sincere congratulations on the NC last night! Your boys didnโ€™t get down and absolutely earned it. Great season! Iโ€™m happy for you guys but also jealous!๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ

Fine. If nobody else is going to do it I will be that guy. Besides, I just chugged and entire gallon of Orange Kool Aid so I've got a serious sugar high rn anyway.

It's football dangit. Heup makes the CFP this year, then win it all next year. Then D Dub will build a Mount Crushmore right beside the river in Knocksville, overlooking the stadium from the NE.

Gen. Neyland will be a the Front, Pat beside him, then Tony and Heup to close it out.

None of you want to hear why I think Rick wont be on there.

I think baseball is the most difficult to get.
Too many things can go wrong for the better team.
Ole Miss was the 64th seed a couple of years ago
and they won it all. That would NEVER happen in most sports.

Coming into baseball this season I didn't think they would be good enough to get to Omaha but was proved wrong. Rick Barnes has had enough talent to get to the final four multiple times so they have a chance. The new CFP playoff is a wild card. I think Tennessee could make the field this year but I'm thinking top 4 will still be favorites. I think 2025 or 26 are better chances for Tennessee but will see.

Way way too early to say this, but I will.

With zero disrespect to her, we could have another Pat Summit with Tony. There is no logical reason why he can't have the baseball team competing year in and out for the NC. Omaha is no longer a good season or a goal for anyone associated with the baseball program (and not that it hasn't been). Only a NC is good enough anymore.

Also too too early, but how awesome would it be if we were to have another TV in Coach Caldwell. From the get go, she seems to have a lot of fire and passion to turn that program around, just like Tony has.
