I was living in Lexington at the time. ND was kicking our A$$. Bill Walsh was yammering about how we sucked and how great ND was.

After the game in Knoxville, I wanted payback and was disgusted with the first half.

I would have turned it off if not for the blocked kick and return to end the half.

The rest, as they say is history...

I hate to admit what I did. I was a freshman in college at the time and was watching it in my dorm room. When Andy Kelly got blindsided in the 2nd half and lost the ball, I DID turn it off and went to the mall for something that I can't remember. When I got to the mall, I happened to walk by a Radio Shack and the game was still on and I happened to stop and check the score just in time to see us score the go ahead TD on a screen pass.

Proof that no lead is safe - the LSU game this year was kind of the same thing - LSU not scoring at the end of the half was the one glimmer of hope.

Things that make me feel old . . . Milo would have been 3 years old when the Miracle at South Bend occurred.

I've never turned it off, but I have turned away from the TV.

I picked up the latest Playboy and started "reading" it during the Orange Bowl, for instance.

This day, though, I stayed with the Vols. I had a glimmer of hope after Floyd Miley's td.

Me, too.

We used to score 30 and 40 points in one game, too. But that's a really fuzzy memory.

I was in Albany, Georgia at a fraternity weekend on some quail plantation. I sat in the Squire's Inn (think really bad roadside motel) and watched the game alone. All of my friends were UGA and Gator fans and the GA-FLA game was on at the same time. When UT butt-blocked the field goal I started jumping on the bed and hit my head on the ceiling. It was one of those few moments in life where you can be in exctacy all by youself. :yahoo:

We were watching @ home and my mom turned it off and left. We turned it back on after she left. She did return before the 2nd half though. Loved that game and was sitting in the student section by the '93 season! Damn, I love UT football!!

I was a Senior in K-town , watching in our apt with my wife and a buddy from school we were yelling our butts off. When we blocked that kick right before the half I told my buddy "we're gonna win this damn game!" I was at that moment that I realized that I had secret ninja powers to see into the future! (under the right circumstances)

I was sitting at my house alone and was very dejected during the first half. As the comeback began, about the beginning of the fourth quarter, I started getting excited and called a friend down the street (who is from Michigan and a Wolverine fan) and asked him if he was watching. He said "hell yeah, come on over". Watched the end of the game and when the luck of the Irish field goal was butt blocked ,as hillbilly said, went to high five another friend there, who I thought was a Memphis State fan, who refused the offer. Turned out he was an Irish fan also. Best game I have ever seen!!

Let me think here. Where was I?... Oh yeah, that's right I was on the third row in the corner of the endzone! I jumped off the bleachers onto the field when the field goal was blocked and never felt my feet hit the grass. My whole body was one frozen popsicle! I was 17 at the time, and I'll never forget it!!!

Yeah, my wife and I were looking for a house in this area, and it was either Cumming or Buford. Pick your poison. By the way, Seimans has a big plant in Cumming...

I wanted to turn it off but I was watching with 2 ND fans. Needless to say I was so glad they were there because it was even better watching that comeback with ND fans. :eek:lol:

I was room mates with a guy from Cumming my Jr. year in college, Chris Fields. I don't think they had allowed African-Americans into Forsyth County at that point. Do people still talk about the racial protests and all that stuff that went on down there?

It comes up from time to time. I moved there in 2000, and I'd say 75% of the population are transplants. It's a non-issue now. Most of the toothless wonders have moved farther out.

Good to know the urban sprawl brought about some benefit. Now I have to know, do people who live in Cumming say they are from Atlanta? I had buddy who grew up in Cobb and he would get highly agitated when people from Marietta, Roswell, etc. would identify as Atlantans.
