I haven't seen anybody compile a list of who the top priorities are/should be for the 2019 class. Wanted to see if anybody has some insight?

Swanson posted a list of ‘19 kids that were on the coach’s board in their individual threads.

Look at all SR Starters this year and their positions, but hopefully we begin to recruit to replace rising Sophs + Jrs, then it gives a year to redshirt and then contribute

Swanson posted that Grant Gunnell decommitted From A&M and we offered. That’s a face of the program type! Need to become best friends with this one.

Probably a bunch of 2 and 3 stars with no p5 offers.

The need for an elite level QB is completely overrated. It has been proven too many times that you don't need an elite QB to win big. Focus on putting elite talent around a QB first. That way you putting less pressure on a kid to carry the team or be some sort of savior. Florida of the 90's and early 2000's, and Alabama this decade are proof enough of this.

You are correct...Kind of. What Alabama has done recruiting in unprecedented and will be near impossible for us to replicate, Nick has just been that good. An Elite QB can mask some of the flaws we may have in comparison to Bama or UGA.

I really feel that QB is a position that a "system kid" can blossom in. I'm not saying that we should be looking at 2-3 stars, but an elite 11 guy is not a need. The chances are better at finding multiple stars at OL/DL/DB/WR on a yearly basis. If we land an elite QB i sure as heck wont complain, i'd just like to the roster built out with quality depth from the lines out.

If you have a good to great defense, you can win with a game manager type QB.

If not then you need the game changer type QB in order to outscore the other team.

Until we get that dominant defense, we need all the elite playmakers we can get.

And even then you still want the best you can recruit because the other elite teams you will (hopefully) face in the playoffs have done just that.

Always recruit the best you can get.

It may not be necessary to win during the season but it is a necessity if you hope to win championships.

1. QB
2. OL
3. DBs
4. OL
5. OL
6. OL
7. Couple more DBs

Not kidding. I would sign 6-8 OL if we could. Why go after QBs or RBs when they need guys to block for them?

Am I the only one who can't access the football talk thread? Keeps sending me to the tweets thread. Cleared cache, restarted phone and cleared cookies

Getting an elite QB on board makes it a heck of a lot easier to recruit elite WR's to catch passes from him and elite Olinemen to block for him.
