If you were a 5 star recruit and you were making a list, checking it twice, and wanted to be at a school that, historically, recruits well, has great facilities, a championship mentality and a recent <near> National Championship experience, what would your list include or exclude from the below?

Tennessee
Ohio State
USC
Auburn
Texas
Florida
Georgia
LSU
Michigan
Notre Dame
Fla State
Oklahoma
Bammer :eek:lol: :nener: :bad: :eek:lol: :moon2:

So Cal - potentially 3 heisman winners in 4 years and a third straight NC. Who wouldnt want to go there. Sunny Cal and the women? Man.

If I was Scandanavian, I would pick the culturally diverse University of Tennessee Volunteer program.

I love an underdog, so i would also be looking at some up and coming programs...or programs that haven't been to the big one in a while...what a thrill it would be to be on the team that brought the first conf. champ or NC to a shcool that hasn't ever won one...or hasn't won one a LONG time..
So my list would include:
Tennessee (the ultimate underdog in my book, plus, i love it!)
South Carolina (please don't hate me!)
Va Tech
Hawaii (i can't believe they don't do better w/national recruits?, just kidding....)
Ole Miss (not enough credit for the facility improvements and game day atmosphere...great place)
Auburn
UCLA
CAL
Clemson

Florida State - Have you SEEN those chicks?

Every school goes in cycles... but if I was the 5 star recruit, I'd go to Tennessee to be close to home.

Oh, well, if we're going that route:
Georgia
Ole Miss
LSU
Tennessee
Alabama
FSU
FLorida
North Carolina
Clemson
USC, the real USC, not cackalack.
Texas

Lots and lots of talent at these schools...Ole Miss, UGA, and LSU have been the best at least in my experience...

I can't se Clemson, they just don;t recruit enof depth and Va Tech I thought about but they always seem to come up short. UCLA is a possibility but, Ole Miss not a chance, CAL no recent history of being able to crack the PAC 10.

Don't see Bammer, I realy believe with Auburn's return to high recruiting levels, that Bammer can't do it. Not until they re-establish a natioal prescence and keep a coach for more than two seasons and they ain't there yet or anywhere near close. Remember, a lot of these present Bammers cam e\in as younguns who knew they could play rightaway, got a lot of experience, and they still sucked on offense. Their line is horrible at the tackles especially. :bad:

I would look at schools that have won it in the last 15 or so years...
USC
LSU
Ohio State
Miami
Oklahoma
Florida State
Tennessee
Michigan
Nebraska
Florida
Alabama

There are teams on that list in a downswing, though. Florida State, Nebraska, Michigan, and hate to say it, but Tennessee, too. The jury remains out on the likes of Alabama, Florida, LSU. Their coaches are unproven.

Teams I would add to the list that haven't won an NC recently are:

-Notre Dame (media darlings and Weiss appears to be the real deal)
-Virginia Tech (the ACC has gotten tougher, they still have something to prove)
-Texas (incredible recruiting base, the Big 12 appears to be sliding, but I am still not convinced that Mack Brown is a big game coach. We shall soon see I suppose)
-Georgia (believer in Richt, but the SEC is so damn tough)
-Auburn (heck, they have already went undefeated in a season, they just have to get some respect) How a team can come out of the SEC undefeated and not be in the title game is beyond me.

Teams that could get there with the right coaches:
-Penn State (Joe Pa should hang it up)
-Texas A&M (recruiting base and tradition, just not the coaches to go with it)
-UCLA (they have the same recruiting base as USC)
-Colorado (Barnett is all hype, and no substance. They were a strong team back in the early 90's)
-Arizona
-Washington

No way Tenn should be on that list when teams like Texas, UGA, and AU are not....
