Here's my picks:

1st Round - Malehona
2nd Round - Haralson, Allen
5th Round - Gaither
7th Round - Riggs

Still a lot of players for a 5-6 team. A lot of other players will probably walk on and make a team, like Mitchell, and K. Simon and Hall.

i think haralson has a great chance to be drafted before mahelona. haralson has a great nfl body, with good speed.

allen would have been first rounder, but we know what happened there.

i see simon getting drafted somewhere around the 5th round.

hall should get drafted on day two also.

Do you agree with Riggs in the 7th round? I was thinking 3rd or 4th. He will be back from injury and he has the pro back look.

his attitude will drop him down. he got outplayed by a freshman this year. i just dont think that he will ever grow up.

too bad...his dad was a hell of a back to watch and he looked similar at times.

yeah, and his vision on the feild isn't all that great...i thought he ran scared a lot...at least this year...after how last year ended, i thought the sky would be the limit....of course it wasn't all his fault....it's not like we had a down the feild air attach anyone had to worry about...

I agree w/cbc about Parys....he should be a day 1 pick. Allen has potential to be, depending on how fast he recovers and what his workout will be like in Indy....but he'll get a chance somewhere regardless...so long as he doesn't have to tackle Ronnie Brown or Leonard Pope he'll be fine!!

allen will still be a first rounder imo. i could be wrong but i think he will be. Mahelona will probly go in the first and simon is a possible late first early second round pick. i think riggs in the 7th is probly pretty accurate. we shall see but i dont believe he is much better than 7 and definately no better than 5th round. Jason hall could go as high as the 3rd or 4th round and haralson could be a first round depending on how he does in the combine as an OLB. A lot of mock drafts like chris hannon for some reason. good athlete and good speed but unproven to me. thats what alot talk about though. Harrell has the ability to be a top 4 round pick if he desides to go that route. i believe some nfl scouts like albert toenia alot and they like a few more of our o-lineman.

Mahelona and Harrelson -1st round Simon late 1st early 2nd Allen probably depends on his combine after the injury, Gaither 4th or 5th
and personally I wouldn't waste a pick on Riggs

Parys is one of my favorite D linemen, but I'm afraid the scouts will think he doesn't have the size for a first or second round selection. I'm thinking third or fourth.

The front four d linemen, J. Allen, R Smith, all within the first 1-5 rounds. Oh yea, and Checkerboard Charley in the late second or early third round.

spoke with the man who would know. G will rehab and when the combines get here will do just fine. probably a 4, no highr than 3 and no lower than a 6.. This is what he has worked for for 8 years. He will be somewhere on Sunday's next season. You can book it!

Early Analysis based on scouting reports and draft boards

1st- 2nd Round: Mahelona, Haralson, Allen
3rd- 4th Round: Simon, Riggs
5th- 6th Round: Gaither, Douglas
7th Round: Hall

Jesse Mahelona is undersized at his position, but he is force as a pass rusher, which NFL teams love, so he will be either a first round or early 2nd round pick, depending on how many DTs are taken.

Parys Haralson is a beast coming off the edge, and at 6'2 he also lacks ideal size, but is a solid pass rusher which is highly valued in the NFL (see Dwight Freeney). He is also the active leader in the SEC in sacks, so I look for him to be a mid 2nd round pick. Will probably stay at DE, but depending on the defensive scheme, could make the move to OLB.

Due to the lack of depth at CB in this years draft right now Jason Allen is a 2nd to 3rd round draft pick. He has a chance to move up as high as the first round depending on how well he recovers and what he does at the combine. Based on the team's needs he could move to safety.

Kevin Simon has a nose for the ball and is prone to making plays, and probably has more tackles this year then he has been given credit for. It seems he has fully recovered from the injuries that plagued him earlier in his career, and was playing like the star we all knew he was. From most boards I have seen he is in the top 10 for MLB which translates to mid 3rd or 4th round, but coud drop if teams are wary due to his past.

The RB crop this year is very weak and NFL scouts like Gerald Riggs body and pedigree so look for him to be drafted anywhere from the 4th to 6th round. He can improve his stock dramatically if he makes a full recovery and has an impressive showing at the combine.

Omar Gaither has good size and strength, but more importantly is very intelligent and has a high football IQ. He is not the fastest or most athletic OLB in the draft, but the fact that he consistently puts himself in a position to make plays, will ultimately land him in the late 4th to early 5th range.

Cody Douglas has NFL size, and he has been a rock for the most part on our OL for the past 3 seasons. He has good technique and will probably go somewhere in the 5th-6th round.

Jason Hall had a stellar senior campaign after being dormant for most of his career, but a lot of that was due to the double teams Mahelona recieved and the attention that was paid to Haralson. Still he was a big part of our DL, so if he is drafted he projects to be either a late 6th or 7th round pick.

Albert Toeania had a chance to be drafted late on the 2nd day because he has elite size and has shown flashes of being a solid T, but he hurt his stock with his behavior and erratic play. He has been labeled a behavior hazard by scouts and if he does make a team, it will likely be from the 6th to 7th round or as an undrafted free agent.

Chris Hannon will get a look because he is 6'4 and will probably run a sub 4.4 40 at the combine, and could be signed as an undrafted free agent.

CJ Fayton andJason Mitchell could both make practice squads.

If Justin Harrell or Rob Smith declare for the draft early the highest they both go would probably be the 4th round.

Mahelona made the rest of them look good because there were always 2 O-linemen dedicated to stopping him He'll go 1st round. :ninja:

you are somking crack for real dude. to say that we will have no first rounders is alright, but none in the second? if manhelona and parys fell to the third round nfl teams would be craping thereselves trying to get the cards out to get them. no one in the nation was better getting off the line and two the qb or rb than those two.

1. Mahelona
2. Harelson
3. Allen
4. Simon
5. Gaither
6. Mitchell (if healthy, sub 4.6)
7. Hall
8. Hannon
9. Douglas
10. Riggs
11. Fayton

These are no particular order, and some are borderline. Injuries will be a big deal, because Allen was headed for the 1st round, Douglas has ability but has been hurt for two years, and Mitchell is an elite athlete when healthy. Hannon, the poor kid, just never was taught anything. So there are some questions.

BTW, if you'll notice, that's all of our senior starters except Gandy. Next year the draftees will be more on offense.
