We all LOVE the Vols, of course. Obviously. Goes without saying.

But...who do you like?

Of the other 13 SEC schools, which do you tolerate, and which do you absolutely detest?

Here's kind of how it stands for me:

LIKE:
-- A&M
-- LSU

TOLERATE:
-- Kentucky
-- Ole Miss
-- Auburn

DISLIKE:
-- Georgia
-- Miss State
-- Arkansas
-- Mizzou
-- USCe
-- Vandy

DETEST:
-- Bama
-- Florida

That changes over time. For instance, I didn't use to dislike Mizzou so much...then they became whiny brats with a weird entitlement complex and a serious need for safe space. So now I definitely do.

Whatta you think? Anything way wrong in that list, for a Vols fan?

Glad we don't play A&M regularly. I don't want to hate them after last week. Classy group. It could possibly deteriorate if we see to much of them, but right now they are high on my list and I hope that it doesn't deteriorate.

Not seeing them very often (neither in the current SEC build, nor in the more distant past) certainly helps A&M stay near the top of that list, for sure. :good!:

Mine is so subjective to time. I hate Florida but hated worse than ever when Urban Meyer was there. Ole Miss never bothered me but Hugh Freeze has changed that. I respected Bama more when we were beating them with their Mikes. Hate for Vandy at all time high with Franklin there. During douche David Pollack's tenure at Georgia hated them more. So I believe losing to teams makes me hate them more. There is a reason Saban put in good words for Dooley. Guaranteed wins. Everyone likes the guaranteed wins, especially fans.

Mine are going to be unconventional. I think so much of who you dislike has to do with when/if you grew up watching the team. When I was a kid, we owned Alabama but were owned by Florida. Florida is really the only team I have a true, consistent distaste for. As dominant as they have been, I just cannot dislike Saban and Alabama more than I did Florida and Spurrier in the 90s.

LIKE:
Texas A&M

TOLERATE:
South Carolina
Georgia (can be in the like category at times)
Auburn (can be in the like category at times)
Mississippi State
Ole Miss (can be in the like category at times)
LSU
Arkansas
Kentucky
Vanderbilt (can be in the dislike category at times)

DISLIKE:
Alabama
Missouri (can be in the tolerate category at times)

DETEST:
Florida

LIKE:
LSU-- I've always liked LSU for some reason.

TOLERATE:
Auburn-- Rival to Bama, plus I don't have any reason to dislike them.
Arkansas-- I like them better now that Petrino is gone. Don't have any reason to dislike them currently.
Bama--I respect Bama which is why they are in this category. It helps that I'm not around their fans on a regular basis.
Miss State-- Don't really have anything against them.

DISLIKE:
Georgia-- Live in Georgia and my friends are UGA fans. Plus they are usually one of the better teams in the East.
Mizzou--Only dislike them because we are in the same division.
USCe--Same division, plus formerly coached by Spurrier.

DETEST:
Florida--I hate Florida more than any other team. I despise everything about them. F the Gators:machgun:!!
Vandy--should be self explanatory.

Yeah, that's a mystery even to myself. For some reason, as a kid, I liked Auburn and Clemson. Not as much as Tennessee, of course, not even close. But better than all the other teams. They were just different: didn't have a state name, like Alabama or Kentucky or Georgia Tech...had exotic animals as their mascots (that kind of thing can appeal to 8 year olds, heh)...for some reason some uncle or cousin gave me a Clemson toboggan cap for Christmas one year...reasons like that. *shrug* plus the fact, as DD said, that the enemy of my enemy is my friend (looking at you, Bama)...so I just never minded them, I guess. :)

I can tolerate everybody that's not Tennessee with the exception of Florida and Alabama. I detest Florida, but I LOATHE Alabama. I think it's their fans more than anything.

i'm from Mississippi, and my brothers went to MSU, several really good friends went to Ole Miss, so i have a soft spot for both of those schools.

i can tolerate everybody else except:
Bama
FL
GA
Auburn

And Bama/FL rotates every season. FL week, i hate FL the most...then Bama week rolls around, and i remember, oh yeah, i REALLY hate these guys.

i hate Auburn because of the 80's. that used to be a big rivalry. GA has replaced it, but i'll never forget the 85 win over them, nor will i forget "the tie".

of those 4, GA is the one i detest the least. that's a the most competitive rivalry we have, and we both hate FL and Auburn, so at least we have some stuff in common with them. and my best friend is a GA guy, so sometimes i feel bad for him.

For me, it is almost entirely their fans. I actually have a lot of respect for what the team has done over the years and their history.

Every fanbase has obnoxious fans (including Tennessee). It is just that Alabama has many more of them as a percentage of their overall fanbase.

Auburn-The fans I've met are pretty nice and sometimes they beat Bama, Florida and Georgia.

LSU-same

Tolerate:
Ole Miss
Miss State
South Carolina
Arkansas
Mizzou
A&M

Dislike (ie UT's little brothers):
Vandy-do they still have fans?

Kentucky-induce the most eye rolling. "Just wait till basketball season!" And then we beat them in basketball this year. Lmao.

Hate:
Florida
Georgia

Hate with a passion:
Bama

I like Missouri and Auburn.

I feel sorry for Kentucky and Vandy because they suck so bad, always. And I feel sorry for UGA because they are so bewildered at the fact that they are the definition of "just a bit better than mediocre" almost every year.

A word to sum up Georgia's football program would be "almost."

They are almost a great team every single year. And they should be bewildered by it.
