Who do you think will emerge in taking the most of ON's minutes in the games left?

Fulkerson will play more as well as BHH. I would expect Aidoo and Mashack to get some minutes here and there though too.

Barnes trusts his experienced guys. Bailey is back in play unless he puts together some 1 for 10 outings.

I think they’ll go more with the 4 guard lineup against most teams. That’ll give Fulkerson and Uros more at the 5, and more than likely Powell, Mashack, and Bailey see more minutes in the 4 guard rotation.

In 2 big sets, I think Fulkerson again gets most of the mind with Uros next, then BHH and Aidoo in relief.

Aidoo had a moment in the last game where he went up to block a shot under the basket. Even though he whiffed, it was exciting to see a big, athletic presence challenging an inside shot. He's obviously got a long way to go, but I'd love to see him just come in and do that once or twice a game. He's gotta' start somewhere.

For ON’s 21.5 minutes per game will be split up vs situational games IMO.
I think until someone just shines they’ll add somewhere near 3 minutes a game to these 7 players. Some games not all 7 which will

My hot take is this could end up being addition by subtraction, at least offensively. Against our top opponents ORN struggles. Shooting only 38% from 2 which is awful for a big. Yet, he accounts for 20% of the teams shots when he’s on the floor. I think we can reallocate those to more efficient scorers. Especially JJJ now. Perhaps the timing gives us the opportunity to strike while the iron is hot there.

It’s likely gonna make us pretty one dimensional as 4+1 style, but that’s what we gotta do…that’s been our best lineups and style all year and even more so of late.

I’d argue we should have been playing more that way to begin with

I don’t think there’s any question we should’ve been, I said before the silver lining is this hopefully forces Rick’s hand into that…I just wish it would’ve been done with ON as the 5 still.

A couple weeks ago I would have said it would be a non factor or even additional by subtraction but ON has actually shown signs of life lately. The most recent version of him will be missed.

Yes, but I have to remind myself those were still two games against teams in the bottom half of the league.

Fulkerson should be completely recovered from Covid by now. Hopefully he can get going like the AZ game right about now. That would be enough to pick up the slack.

No offense to you or Fulky, but it's very unlikely that happens. It's been one thing or the other for most of his time at UT. If we get 10-15 solid minutes from him, I'll be happy.

I know he has had Covid twice and got his face broken by a dirty elbow, but maybe its his time to step up. I thought it was happening this year until he got sick again.

Recovery from time varies greatly!!!! Based on person, covid variant, antibodies, etc.
We know from previous experience his recovery time is longer than the best case.
My (totally uninformed) guess is he is still maybe a month a way from his best (former) self.

No way a 4 guard offense works against some of the better teams ... Ky, Purdue, Villanova will beat us unmercifully if we try to play small ball for the entire game. jmo

It will work better is smaller sample sizes against some teams.
