VolNation, I have but a simple question: who do you think will go undefeated through the regular season this year?

I realize that it's preseason predictions are worthless and nearly impossible to make, but I'm interested to see what you guys think.

One choice of mine would be Virginia Tech- not because they're good, but because they play zero preseason-ranked teams, and the two squads on their schedule that had any chance of being ranked are on the verge of NCAA evisceration (UNC, Miami). They tend to lose a couple games they should win yearly, so I don't know how solidly I would stand by that prediction.

Another option could be Alabama, but I struggle to see how any team can come out of the SEC West unscathed in the coming year.

Any other selections? I really feel that this could be a year where we have no unbeatens at season's end.

Tennessee. Duh. :loco:

Seriously, Boise will destroy Georgia and skate after that.

TCU has the best chance if they can beat Boise. Boise has the best chance if they can beat TCU. Winner of that game finishes the regular season 12-0, IMO.

I'm calling a TCU loss to Air Force.

Boise goes undefeated though.

In the major conferences, your best shots are Oklahoma, Virginia Tech, Alabama (unlikely with the schedule), and Stanford (unlikely with losses at HC and OL, but they get Oregon at home)

Zero, cero, zilch, nada, none. Predict everyone has one loss at least to end it. Parity is here! Embrace it!

Michigan State.

I predicted it last year and was only off by one game. This years schedule is tougher. Will just have to see how it goes.

I'd say the following teams have a strong shot at going undefeated (I don't know, what qualifies here? 50% or up? You make the call):

Virginia Tech although they always find a way to screw it up, like losing to Georgia Tech
Houston
Southern Miss
Alabama
Oklahoma
Boise State

Don't know if it would happen because both would probably be relatively low-ranked, but something crazy like a 12-0 Houston vs. 12-0 USM C-USA championship could be a BCS play-in. Virginia Tech's schedule is an utter joke. Alabama's toughest test comes at home. However, their toughest road test probably comes the following week at MSU. Unless Tulsa pulls some crazy stuff or Oklahoma State does the same, Oklahoma's got a good shot at 12-0. Boise...well, yeah. Get past a UGA team that's having an extreme depth issue in the run game and it's smooth sailing.

This hurts to say, but I full expect Alabama to run the table again this year.
