Who does Coach Martin call at midnight?

We have all been called by the annoying salesmen at different times of the day, especially when it seems to be to most inconvenient time. Please tell me how this is any different?...I really do not like this new rule. If I were a parent and some coach was texting or calling my son late at night, I would be highly ticked off. I know that this new rule could in some how favor us, just like any other team, but I am completely against this. I know my opinion doesn't mean squat, but how can you allow coaches to have unlimited contact with players? Just doesn't seem right to me..

I think you make it one of these instate players in no order: Jawaun Johnson, Hubbs, Nichols, Nick King, JWIII

I actually doubt he called anybody at midnight, and maybe didnt even text anybody. As eluded to above, a lot of these kids are already annoyed by the late calls/texts, and many are turning their phones off.

I could see CCM as the type of guy to wait till the next day and then contact them just to say something like, didn't want to disturb you that late at night blah blah blah.

Then again he may have been blowing up people's phones for all I know haha. I'd like to see newkirk, Nichols and Hubbs get the first 3 calls in any order though.

Ricky Seals-Jones...try to talk him into coming to Knoxville to play basketball and football. Would be great for the football program, as he an elite WR...don't know how good he is on the basketball court, but wants to play both in college.

It will be very interesting over the next few years to see some stats come out concerning this. (I'm sure someone will keep track of who's doing what.) Also, does this open the door for Kelvin Sampson to come back to major college hoops?

As for UT, I hope CCM gets established enough with the top coaches that his calls/texts are welcomed and consequently, he and his staff don't have to go overboard.

So, if you're the parent or the kid, how about you just don't answer your phone after a certain time? I mean, you're in control of your own decision; if that school/coach wants the kid that badly, they'll call back at a more appropriate time. They're not gonna back of the recruitment because you didn't answer your phone. Besides, I feel like most coaches would text late at night vs. call, if they do anything that late, just to get a foot in the door so the kid expects it, then call the next day. I would. :)

Great post. I don't think this new rule change will alter the way coaches recruit very much. But who knows. Griff?

I will say there's some funny reactions to the midnight calls/texts....

One recruit posted on twitter, if you're gonna text me this late atlesst spell my name right.

I've seen a few that apparently sent texts to coaches that were meant for their girlfriends haha.

I'm find with the unlimited amount of contact rule change, but make time constraints. No communication between 11pm-6am

Much like I though the answer to the OP, nobody...

No rush at midnight by Cuonzo Martin after recruiting restrictions lifted » govolsxtra.com Mobile

All across the country, coaches burst into a tizzy.

That is, except Tennessee's Cuonzo Martin.

"I'm usually in bed by midnight," Martin said Friday morning.

Well before bells tolled at 12 a.m., Martin told targeted recruits that he would not, in fact, be calling them at midnight.

"I told those guys I'd call them in the morning," said Martin, who has four available scholarships for the 2012-13 season and one verbal commitment.

The most annoying thing about this (in a reverse logic kind of way) is the UT Ath Dep just dropped big money on getting a system to track calls and prevent making too many calls. That was the initial reason they (the NCAA) came on campus a few years back in the 1st place. All that money spent on a system that is now pointless.
