Bos shared in another thread that he had a motorcycle wreck that makes it very hard for him to type. I am glad he is on here still talking about his favorite team.

Bos, I think we may have a shot at Cothron. I am not optimistic about us getting in on Selby and I think T Harris will be our highest rated player in this class by a lot. I also do not know of any great JUCO bigs to bring in.

I don't think we are losing 7 players. I only count 4 for sure: Maze, Chism, Prince, and Smith. Maybe Hopson, so that would be 5 at the most. We will give one of our remaining scholarships to McBee. That only leaves one more in this class.

I was wondering the same thing. Are we targeting anyone else and if so who do we have a legitimate shot at?

In La Follette so CG aint too far away from me :)

As for recruits, I don't see too many surprises coming out of this class.

Jayvaughn Pinkston = Nova. I don't see Jones or Forbes taking him from Wright after he done verballed. Tobias obviously played a huge factor into this and by what I keep reading, might have caused a no win situation/bad blood type of deal. I'm guessing all the cards we're laid on the table for Harris and Pinkston probably wants a guaranteed spot. No way this happens and Kimari Young knows that. Nova is a good fit for him as well so forget 'em.

Selby = Likely not happening. The Wild Wess situation catches too much heat not to look at it. If it's not due to Wild Wes, something wrong went down instead of a simple change of heart. "I'm not going to comment on any specific player, because I am not allowed to do that," Jones told the paper. "I'll just say something smells right now", Tony Jones. But he's also considering Kansas, an Adidas school, so either that's in there to destroy the Wild Wes / Nike debate or something else influenced this kid and his mother.

Cothron = I think this has more to do with Sidney Lowe and NC States season than anything else. To get him, I think we seriously have to hope for no big dance and huge under achieving from the Wolfpack in the ACC. A Lowe fire would put NC State out of the mix and concentrate more on Tennessee and Alabama. Also, I'm not sure how Tobias Harris decision will factor Cothron either. Hopefully the 4 aint the only thing Cothron is looking to play and that Steve Forbes sold to him during the recruitment.

CJ Leslie = wow. We're probably better off getting Selby than Leslie. I think he's a Kentucky lean now and is he even considering Tennessee in his top schools anymore? I seriously don't think so. Leslie is another 6'8 PF and I just don't see anyone that high coming to UT after Tobias Harris decided to come.

See a trend here? Either way, I wish we'd get in on the Roscoe Smith/Justin Coleman sweepstakes. I think a nice 3 puts this class over the top and we could compete for Justin Coleman. If Roscoe Smith picks Uconn, I don't see Coleman going there but I haven't seen anything about us going at him.

Basically, Look for a Juco signing if Pearl adds anyone else.

Seven if you count Hopson, Tabb (likely not to be back) and Negadu. At this point I don't see Hopson leaving early for the NBA. He is too inconsistent. McBee will get one of the scholarships.

I think Hopson is a three, or maybe even a four and done now :dunno:

i like shaun ,s anwser but i do think we need atleast one more big man, and scotty isnt very consistant and in the power rankings he isnt even in the top 20 at the sg position so i think he will be here four years also,i just dont know if tobias, kenny hall and brian williams and woolridge can get things done in the frontcourt, unless hall does some major improving by the start of next year ,and mcbee does give his all kneeds to improve his three and two pointer field goal shooting ,but as i said in a post before the season ,he doesn,t need a scolly he can get grants and loans plenty enough to pay for school ,i have no period on my keyboard is why i just put a coma, mcbee is like i was he has grew up watching the vols while he was playing highschool ball and myself if it was me i would get grants and let them have the scolly to give to a person we really need, and he can still play and probally by the looks of his early play he will be pretty good, but he is a local kid i would rather walk on at ut than get scollys from any school in this whole country ,im orange to the bone.just hope that he does good and the vols continue to be among the sec,s best teams and besides negadu they can be injury free,im saying that because of the rouhg way i was on my legs im just turning 40 in march and i was told friday that in the next year i would need a left knee and a hip replacement on the left side ,and it sucks because from 82 to 95 i played basketball every day for 5 to 10 hours everyday and now i have bad feeling im going to be crippled ,i have never been scared i was 5,11 180 and i would guard the other teams best player if it was the pg or even a 6,7 270 center and i was a stopper now being cut on scares the h--l out of me im going to nashville to watch dolphins and titans and see a specalist the next day then im going to go to as many vol games as possible ,because i might not be able to go in person after surgery ,that is why the big orange mean so damn much to me ,and it be nice to see mens basketball get ncaa tital and to see another bcs national tital in football ,man never knows if he will wake up when he goes under the knife ,sorry about the rambling god bless the vols and all you true big orange fans,'

Rivals has our recruiting class ranked 6th for now. We are reported to be looking for another post player in this class. I agree that McBee is going to get a scholarship. Hat, do you have any thoughts as to another post that we have a realistic shot at?

BVF,
I will freely admit that Hat will know a great deal more about juco post players than I do after he has looked at them. He has indicated in another thread that he does not start paying attention to that until after the new year. He said it is too early to evaluate the juco big men. I do think that he would concur that there is not a looming superstar in juco to pair with T Harris and that it is not a good thing if we have to look there.

Word is that we are still recruiting 3 highschool post players. I don't know what our chances are on getting any of the three.

Probably Pinkston, Cothron, and someone else. No surprise there but what doesn't make since is the Pinkston / Nova committment when you use the same logic that caused him to 'stray' away from UT after Harris. Isn't Nova going to be VERY deep next year in that dept?
