Its the offseason and we are all bored. Here's a simple poll.
Which of the following is most likely to contribute to a bowl appearance?

In all seriousness, the O-Line. It doesn't matter who you put at QB, if a OL can't block, then a RB can't do much, and a QB can't do much either.

But I think we're going to be pleasantly surprised with our Offensive Line. But I think the OL is the piece that holds it all together. We've had years where we had playmakers, but no O-Line. We had years where we had a good OL but no playmakers. We had years where we had a great offense, but a crappy defense. We had years where we had a great defense, but a crappy offense that went 3 and out every series.

We just need a year where offense clicks and sustains drives and scores. And we need a year where the defense can stop drives and get off the field. We need it all to work in sync. We haven't had that in a LONG time. Ever since 2007, IMO.

If we do that going to a bowl will be easy

Any of the things the OP listed would play a major role in us getting to a bowl game, but to hold all the teams we face this except for two to under 100 yards rushing would be an amazing accomplishment.

I think it just comes down to how well the freshman can come in and make an impact. We're going to be a young team. If those guys can't contribute....it's gonna be a long year. IF they can? It's gonna be a fun season.

Can not be argued against.

More concerned with our DL, than OL. We lost some studs to the NFL from the OL. But, the OL has some quality players returning and I project them to be average in SEC. A bit concerned that reports on Blair are not as glowing as hoped.

The DL, otoh, will have to replace a group of underachievers. Which means the backups were below the ability of underachievers last year. We've got some freshmen studs coming, but they are not likely to make a major impact in the SEC because of youth.
If our DL can be average for the SEC, then we should have a good chance for a winning season.

There should be an option for an improved DL or pass rush. If we'd gotten 5-8 more sacks last season, we'd have gone bowling.

Replace Saban with Shula
Replace Richt with Donnan
replace Spurrier with Sparky Woods or Brad Scott
Leave Muschamp at Florida
Vandy back to being Vandy
Then we go back to the good ole days where coaching was sub par in the SEC = winning

Anybody that voted in this ludicrous poll doesn't understand that winning is a team effort that runs from coaching all the way to the bench rider that never plays but runs plays on the scout team. A bowl will be the result of all of them, not part.

You posted in the ludicrous thread.

And we ALL understand that, we've watched the game before. But on any team, you have strengths and weaknesses, and wins don't happen without strengths sometimes, and losses don't happen without weaknesses sometimes.

This poll is just about what do we think is going to be the single most contributor to our success in reaching a bowl game.

It's not a ludicrous poll, it's a legitimate topic and question.
