Saw in the "If we lose to thread" that chatt-townVol said it would be interesting to make a poll for this so here you go chatt-town.

I personally think Jones has the better roster.

Butch has the better team....and it's not even close.

Kiffin didn't even leave a team.

Dooley's team had senior leadership at the skill positions (Gerald Jones, Denarius Moore, and Luke Stocker). He had a freshman Tyler Bray and a soph. in Janzen Jackson. Butch's team is loaded on both lines with senior talent and has a stronger secondary but is devoid of talent at the offensive skill postions.

Schedule-wise, the 2010 team had 3 cupcakes for OOC opps. and had Oregon at home. This year, the Vols have 3 OOC cupcakes and Oregon on the road. Dooley's team got LSU at home and Ole Miss at home while Butch gets just Auburn as the rotating opponents from the western division.

In Dooley's inaugural season, he went 6-6 in the regular season with a trip to the Music City bowl. I see the same type of record and outlook for this year's squad.

only position I can think of that Dooley had it better was Safety and WR. The rest of the team it wasn't really close. The Oline hasn't changed that much, just they are seniors now. Plus you added Tiny and Jackson. At running back its Poole vs Neal, Lane, Hill. At QB its Simms and Freshman Bray vs Worley, Peterman, Riley, Dobbs.
I can't really remember who we had at LB, but I think its better now. During Dooleys first year we were actually down to 1 true D-lineman that was healthy.

I think Butch has the best overall starters but dallas is the only wr wit any major time playing. The wr in 2010 made that team go I also think moving back to the 4-3 defense will make a huge difference even with no major upgrades of player. i knew that 3-4 defense would struggle.
