Yes it's the offseason and we're all bored, so I figured I would ask another question.

I think Rick Ankiel.

Your thoughts?

Back in the day Vlad had a cannon, I remember him taking bad angles to the ball letting it bounce off the wall but it didn't matter cause he would whirl and throw a strike to 2nd to beat the guy by 2 steps.

Ankiel or Hamilton I agree. Ichiro has an absolute cannon too.

A couple years ago when Ankiel threw two guys out at third on a line from the wall... jaw dropping stuff.

I always wondered why Ankiel could throw strikes from the out field wall to third or home but couldn't hit the broad side of a barn from 90 feet away.

Those two throws are what sparked this thread

Yes, with good reason. He can locate his throws from the outfield a lot better.......

Haha i like it i like it.

Hamilton was 97-98 on the gun in high school. Used to throw a little slower when scouts were there so he'd get drafted as an OF, not a pitcher.

You young guys should have seen Raul Mondesi's arm when he was young. That guy had a gun. He's the only outfielder of my lifetime (and the first since Clemente) that held The Best Outfield Arm In The Game title by universal acclimation. He just controlled a game defensively from the RF position. It was weird how quickly he lost it, though.

Wish I had been old enough to see Clemente, though. The highlights are amazing.

Johnny Damon.

And it's not even close.

The category is "Strongest arm in the majors" not "player who suspiciously still plays outfield even though he has a spaghetti noodle of an arm"

oh i agree. Clemente just as a whole... Gosh I wish i could see him on a baseball field.

Vladdy had that controlling arm for awhile too, as previously mentioned.

Almost had forgotten about him.
