Different style of hitting IMO.

Cherry is a wall.
Bryant comes out of nowhere and hits people on the run.

Its hard to chose, I would like to see Cherry hit more on the run and Bryant hit people from a stop

Cecil, hands down. But, they both have qualities I'd like to see each one share. Gavin can seriously close the gap in a hurry and Cecil just blows fools up.

Cecil squares up and stops people cold.

Gavin comes at speed and drives thru people.

my pc is absolutely garbage. I don't see anything when click play on those videos. So im gonna say draw since both knocked my computers lights out!!!!

Totally off subject but isn't that what off season threads about anyway... My list of biggest hitters we've had the last 10 years :

Cherry straight-up murders people. He plays nasty with a chip on his shoulder, and I'm thrilled to death he's on our team and not someone else's.

I haven't seen a high school practice in two years, but doing the drills I did in high school, I see Cherry hitting harder than any prospect recently.

After watching their videos back-to-back, my vote is Bryant. But you're right about their highlights. Imagine what Cherry could do if he unloaded on some poor kid. The only time I saw him actually step into a hit was on ST.

lol .. Great thread

Bryant has definitely got a attitude and hits with some serious power. But Cecil is the more powerful hitter .. He tackles with perfect form and its funny to see people literally be stopped in their tracks by him.

I noticed Bryant getting to the ball quickly and wrapping up well, slinging people all over the place. However, Cherry be leaving dead bodies in his wake.

Ok, imagine UT lining up in a 3-4 a few times in a game. Cherry and Bryant in the middle.

The 2nd time this formation occurs, the opponent QB and 2nd string RB simultaneously signal timeout, they jog to the sideline, right by the HC and sit on the bench. They refuse to re-enter the game until UT shifts to a different formation.

Meanwhile the starting RB has still not regained consciousness from the first 3-4 play when both Bryant and Cherry hit him at the line of scrimmage :)

Cecil looks good on film squaring up and hitting, but he will not be able to do that in the SEC, therefore, Bryant has the best form by using his closing speed and following through the tackle. maybe he can put on a clinic once he is on campus and show some of our existing D how to tackle....
