Pearl and Jones seemed very tight. Jones at least talked to the media a few times. Or maybe I was just high on him.

I don't know ANYTHING about CCM's assistants. Are they the ones that do the evaluation on these kids?

Would be interesting if CCM ever thought about replacing some of them.

BTO if you get time will you give us anything you know on CCM right hand men? I've been really interested myself and have not done the research on any of our assistant coaches in basketball.

What would you like to know?

Webster is the guy he trusts most, especially in recruiting. He is the one that usually targets the top recruits and makes the calls, when Zo doesn't himself.

One weird thing with this staff is that Zo does a lot more heavy lifting in recruiting than most head coaches. IDK if that's because he doesn't trust his assistants, he wants to be that involved or what, but you won't find many head coaches putting in the work recruiting he does.

Yeah, I asked Rob Lewis how the dynamic worked on the coaching staff. With Pearl we knew that Forbes was the recruiting guy, Shay was the x's and o's guru and Jones worked subs on the sideline and helped out on the recruiting trail.

Rob just said that Webster was his main guy. I've got mixed feelings about that. On the one hand, Webster is the one guy that Gillispie went hard after to get on his staff at UK and he delivered Liggins. On the other hand, Webster was at UK under some of their worst years since probation. After UK he was at Depaul and Nebraska.

I'm not a huge fan of his staff. I feel like we have a bunch of young, unseasoned guys that don't bring much to the table in terms of major college experience.

Let's be honest about the situation. Very few know the coaching staff and what they do because there is not a positive buzz about the team and program. A decent team with decent coaches doing a decent job with a decent result mixed with the usual players getting in trouble or having attitudes. If they grab a real PG this off season like Barton, then there will be more support and the staff could become more visible because it could be a very big season.
