in the next few years--or the better question is, how? The gators might dominate for a few years--meyer's spread is much harder to defend than any other offense in the leage--and if uf executes like it has with tebow & co., everybody is in trouble. Hope I'm wrong. :cray:

Oklahoma will probably outscore them in the title game.

But without Harvin and (possibly) Tebow next year, I don't think they'll be anywhere as close to good.

And it kills me to say it, but this is the least talented Alabama team we'll see in the next 4 years.

I don't think its that its harder to defend, I think its just the perfect system with Tebow and the athletes he is able to recruit in Fla. Assuming Coach Meyer isn't getting another Tebow in the immediate future other teams will be able to defend their spread if they are able to match Florida's athleticism on the recruiting trails.

I can sleep at night with the knowledge that there isn't another Tebow out there. Say what you will about the kid, but he's a flat out game winner. Alabama hung with them for a while, by being physical, but in the end speed kills.

You have to punch them in the mouth, and be able to catch up with them. That all comes from recruiting speed on defense and then coaching toughness.

I can think of one sure way to stop Florida. 11 Eric Berrys.

Tebow will be gone. He is the engine that runs this offense. Not many big and tough QB's come down the pipe. Don't worry, it won't last forever.

Exactly. CUM needs a QB that can run the O. I don't see many people doing it as well as superman.

Good call bburger. :good!: I was thinking the exact same thing. I have been really impressed with OU this year. Normaly I say they are overrated but this year I think they are the real deal.

Tebow is going to graduate or go pro soon. Hopefully Meyer doesn't find anyone else who can run their offense as well. Otherwise :banghead2:

2001:

Spurrier leaves Florida, Tennessee looks like they are headed to a 2nd NC in 4 years... The question is asked, "Who is going to stop Tennessee? Will they dominate for the next decade?"

Honestly, OU has at least 9 future NFL players, just on the offense, possibly even more. 4 OL, Bradford, Iglesias, Murray, Gresham, and Brown.

It's absolutely insane.

agreed. OU's defense is what really impressed me when they shut down TT, not to mention the 60+ the put on them too. :)

Meyer might find a QB that can run the option as well, but I can't imagine him finding another QB that's as good a runner between the Tackles. That is the element that the Spread Option usually lacks.

nobody is going to dominate this conference..i do expect UF to atleast contend for the SEC title annually..but the turnover of the underclassman at the skill posistions will hurt them

I think Alabama will be harder to stop in the future than Florida.
Florida won't be able to find another Tebow...and I take comfort in that.
