Who is the last GOOD option team we played?

I'd say Kansas State in the 02 Cotton Bowl and Maryland ran a little flexbone at us in the Peach Bowl a couple of years ago.

We definitely had issues, although I think the Urban Meyer version of the option is completely different.

And I wouldn't classify Urban Myth's option as good with Chris Leak running it.

I don't know about that. He's only played one game. The thing is, Leak doesn't have to be great at the option, just good enough to put the threat of it in the defense's head.

Well I am not concerned about Leak beating us by running the ball. It just worries me with all of the things they can do out of that offense. It's a lot to cover.

I think it's time to dust off the Prowler set and make them pay the price for not playing with a Fullback or Tight End.

Did u see South Carolina doing some of that against UCF...Spurrier must have been so impressed by it when we did it against him in '01 that he would try it...Gotta pull out everything to beat a team that has lost 13 straight games.

I was at that game. That was the most ridiculous looking defense I've ever seen. They had linemen moving, linebackers hiding behind linemen, linemen looping and twisting BEFORE the snap . . . and UCF just kept on moving the football on them.

Dang, I looked it up, and they are losing so much, it's grown again.

The streak was 15 coming into the season, and so now it's 16 straight.

With what I saw from our pass defense against UAB, all that Yourbane will have to do, is run one Crossing Pattern after another. I don't think we covered that more than once or twice last weekend. It was open almost every time they called it. Giving up 280 yards passing is really embarrassing especially when there was very little sophistication in their scheme. :banghead:

The Mastergaters are a much, much better team than UAB and they will eat us alive if we can't stop those Crossing Patterns. And you can bet your favorite Big Orange T-Shirt they saw how poorly we did in pass defense.

Granted, Coach Fulmer and Chavez saw the same thing in the game and on the films and they are surely devising a means to get our linebackers to do a better cover job.

The real problem for the Mastergaters is for them to win, they will have to be able to run the ball. We held UAB to about 50-55 yds on the ground. For Yourbane's scheme to work, the running game has to carry a good portion of the game. Stuff the run, and the Mastergaters are in trouble. :gun:

I think we saw a limited amount of plays on both sides of the ball last saturday. So don't be surprised when our 'D' plays better next week - I think the sam could be said of the offense as well
