If we can not learn how to play fundamental, half court, man to man defense, we will not see the team we expected to see. Most teams play junk defenses in spurts to hide weaknesses, or foul trouble.

Not trying to bash the vols, but I really think UK is gonna win this game, the vols have looked pretty bad so far. Good luck stopping meeks and patterson, especially patterson he is an uber man among men.

Let Meeks have 39..just like he did against VMI!!! We all know how that turned out.

Rotate Tabb and Maze on Meeks. Stick to him like glue. Harass the hell out of him when he doesn't have the ball. Make life very difficult for him, at least for the first stretch of the game to try to get him out of synch.

Rotate Chism and Negedu on Patterson. Tell Wayne to play solid defense and not reach, especially when P is away from the basket - let Patterson take a 15-footer, but make him work like crazy for a shot down low. And make Negedu think that defensive assignment is like a piece of red meat, so that whenever he comes in the game, he's fresh and will surpass Patterson's energy level.

And box out on Patterson! Even if it takes two guys. Don't let him rule the lane.

Ramon Harris plays the 3 for UK..... he's not been a consistent scoring threat.....

Pearl is not going to institute some gimmick defense against UK at home.

It's not like you are playing Davidson. UK's other 3 players may not be lights out scorers, but if you try to double Meeks all game without the ball like a Tri and 2 does, they will beat you.

You aren't going to stop Meeks and Patterson.....the key is to contain them and stop everyone else.....

I think Harris has played decently the past few games - so watch him go for 20 against our defense. He'll be that guy... he'll be the Matt Bouldin or the Almos guy from Temple - that's assuming Meeks and PP get their share as well.

Uh, a triangle and two doesn't double someone all game long. It puts 3 players in zone, and then matches 2 people up on the best players they have. I haven't seen it used much to match up much on a guard and a post though, but I'm sure you could find a way to make it work.

Since no one from Kentucky has been a consistent scoring threat besides those two, I'd at least like taking a chance with it for part of the game. Especially since one of the main ways to break it down is good passing from the wing...which has been a huge problem with UK.

He has been suffering from some injuries and just recently got healthy..... I'd love to see him drop 20, but I doubt it happens....
