VolNation,we have a TOP 5 O-LINE! Can we find players at the skill positions to prove it? Peterman,Lane,Croom, and Others need to step up. Pig and the WRs and Neal and t4he Rbs could be great. It comes down to Worley and Peterman`s abilities imho. What say yall?

Jmo but I think Peterman will start at QB, unless we get Green I see Neal and Lane 50/50 right now as starting RB and with CP and Hunter gone, WR is wide open. Also with the space created from the spread, I see Young, Pig and Q getting significant PT. To much speed from those three guys to not play. Just my two pennies.

This would be a super question for BUTCH after orange and white game, but if i was to guess unless peterman has super spring i would say worley because of experience, lane because he is good and dont matter at receiver if the qb hits your hands catch the d** ball

QB: Peterman
RB: Committee, but I think Neal will start/get the most carries
WR: Pig Howard, Vincent Dallas, Paul Harris (Brendan Downs had better be ready to catch a lot of passes)

Paul Harris with his height could be a good target if he can pick up on the routes quickly. Croom should be a big contributor. With Hunter and Patterson gone, I would like to see the staff go after Laquon treadwell.

Id love to see Drae Bowles have a standout year...has all the hype and potential! Was this Peterman all that when he came out? Were other big-time programs recruiting him too? Just dont know much about him. I hope Worley breaks out of his shell and shows us why he was the SC Gatorade player of the year! No excuse for this offense to be bad with so many promising weapons!

HONOR THY VOLS...CHERISH THEM...

QB--Peterman--. I really see little chance that Worley wins the job. Peterman was very strongly recruited by CBJ and is a perfect fit for his offense.

RB-- Lane, Lane and Lane. He finally started signs of what kind of RB that he was recruited to be. Looked like he was finally trusting his knee. I see Lane getting 60%, Neal and if we get Green or Kamara sharing the rest. Neal keeps trying to bounce outside instead of running inside and shows very little toughness. Lane is by far the more pure RB and was breaking tackles, hitting the holes and running with toughness the last half of the yr. And with the way CBJ likes his RB's to be physical and runs more than he passes I believe Lane has a breakout season and go over 1,000 IMO.

WR. This will be hard to even try to predict, especially until we know who will actually be Vols

Howard and Jenkins seem to be our slot guys.
Bowles, Croom, Carter, Smith, Harris and then hopefully North plus Blanc if he stays on the offense. So little experience but damn alot of 4* and highly recruited guys that have potential to be very good. Hopefully we add North to our already good group of WR committs. QB and WR will definitely be fun battles to watch this Spring and into the fall.

Dooley and Kiffin absolutely played FR and lots of them. Fulmer on the other hand rarely did.

I'll try not to cry reading these projections. No matter how you do it, it doesn't look good.

I understand the Peterman argument however Worley has SEC experience and ran a more pass happy version of the same offense in high school very successfully. The previous staff was just as high on Worley as they were on Peterman. I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss Worley.

And unless we see a big improvement out of Lane I still see Neal getting most of the carries. I don't understand the love affair with Marlin that a lot of the fanbase has. He has not shown enough to overtake Neal. Butch covets speed, and Neal wins that contest substantially.

1. i think the love affair comes from him being a more straight ahead runner that finishes runs. isnt scared to run in the middle. almost always gets the "lean" at the end of a run. (not pushed back)
2. his yard per carry avg was 5.5 to neals 4.5 and lane was getting better at the end of the year. coming off the knee surgery
3. neal is def. faster but if your running sideways it means nothing.

dont get me wrong i like them both. just trying to explain why a lot of folks like lane more.

To the people who thing if we get green, or whatever RB you want. He will be a 3rd string RB. IDC if we sign a 8 star RB, and he is the next OJ Simpson. Neal and Lane are our starters.

.....and both are damn good RB.
