I understand the Peterman argument however Worley has SEC experience and ran a more pass happy version of the same offense in high school very successfully. The previous staff was just as high on Worley as they were on Peterman. I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss Worley.

And unless we see a big improvement out of Lane I still see Neal getting most of the carries. 1) I don't understand the love affair with Marlin that a lot of the fanbase has. 2) He has not shown enough to overtake Neal. 3) Butch covets speed, and Neal wins that contest substantially.QUOTE]

1. i think the love affair comes from him being a more straight ahead runner that finishes runs. isnt scared to run in the middle. almost always gets the "lean" at the end of a run. (not pushed back)
2. his yard per carry avg was 5.5 to neals 4.5 and lane was getting better at the end of the year. coming off the knee surgery
3. neal is def. faster but if your running sideways it means nothing.

dont get me wrong i like them both. just trying to explain why a lot of folks like lane more.

It was more a rhetorical question. I know why they like Lane. I just think it's a case of loving the backup. I don't really care who wins the job as long as we win. But Lane hasn't impressed me. YPC is inflated a bit I think bc of Lane getting more carries against backups and lesser teams. Either way I think they will get pretty even touches.

Just saw in the recruiting forum. Apparently North has canceled his Clemson visit this week.

Starter for UT next year?

Dooley and Kiffin absolutely played FR and lots of them. Fulmer on the other hand rarely did.

And Phil won. Kif and Dooley had us excited before the season but not during it. They played too many young players we rationalized this by saying "they are getting experience" so next year will be the year. We have been doing that for 4 years now. Playing a great freshman is one thing but i'm tired of just sticking them out there because they are the new kids on the team. The can have more talent but if the get out of place a couple times a game we are trying to make up 14 points because of the mistakes.

VolNation,we have a TOP 5 O-LINE! Can we find players at the skill positions to prove it? Peterman,Lane,Croom, and Others need to step up. Pig and the WRs and Neal and t4he Rbs could be great. It comes down to Worley and Peterman`s abilities imho. What say yall?

You know we just lost our best offensive lineman, right?

QB -Worley
RB -Neal & Lane
WR - Pig, Carter, Dallas, Bowles and a couple of true freshman

Worley will begin the season as the starter but he won't be able to keep the job. At some point, in the season, Peterman will take the job from him.

I hope not.

Whoever starts at the begining I'd like to see finish. Seems like there are only two reasons to change your qb....injury and losing games.
