I understand the Peterman argument however Worley has SEC experience and ran a more pass happy version of the same offense in high school very successfully. The previous staff was just as high on Worley as they were on Peterman. I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss Worley.
And unless we see a big improvement out of Lane I still see Neal getting most of the carries. 1) I don't understand the love affair with Marlin that a lot of the fanbase has. 2) He has not shown enough to overtake Neal. 3) Butch covets speed, and Neal wins that contest substantially.QUOTE]
1. i think the love affair comes from him being a more straight ahead runner that finishes runs. isnt scared to run in the middle. almost always gets the "lean" at the end of a run. (not pushed back)
2. his yard per carry avg was 5.5 to neals 4.5 and lane was getting better at the end of the year. coming off the knee surgery
3. neal is def. faster but if your running sideways it means nothing.
dont get me wrong i like them both. just trying to explain why a lot of folks like lane more.
It was more a rhetorical question. I know why they like Lane. I just think it's a case of loving the backup. I don't really care who wins the job as long as we win. But Lane hasn't impressed me. YPC is inflated a bit I think bc of Lane getting more carries against backups and lesser teams. Either way I think they will get pretty even touches.
