1. Newman
2.Biffle
3.Kenseth
4. Martin

I think Newman, Kenseth, and Martin make it. :dunno:

Tough call. I could see only 2 making it and 2 outsiders sneaking in(Bowyer/Busch/Vickers). If I had to bet on 2 I would say Newman and Martin make it. Anything could happen though.

Out of those four, I'd be the least surprised if Newman missed it. It's gonna take the kind of bad luck that Martin had in three of the first four races of the year (blown engine, blown engine, cut tire in three straight races) for him to miss it.

Maybe it was just me but did Stewart finish behind Newman on purpose to give him some more points towards the chase? It almost seemed like he was trying to push him forward. Newman wasn't running good yesterday. Stewart wasn't running great either.

If he did it was the smart thing to do.

I wouldn't be surprised if Newman falls out, he's really struggling right now. I think either Martin or Newman fall out, Bowyer makes it. Looking at the next 3 tracks, Bowyer should do very well.

I wouldn't be surprised if the current top 12 all make the chase but it's hard to imagine Kyle missing it.

It's setting up awfully well for Kyle to make it in. He took care of business at Bristol like he did in the Spring, and he also won at Richmond earlier in the year. I hope he can hang on and make it, but I can totally see Montoya and that EGR team dicking around and falling out.

Kyle will get in the chase & i see either Kenseth or Montoya falling out. I think Kyle is going to win one of the next two races.

Also if he makes the chase & wins atleast one more race he we start 1st in points in the chase he is tied right now with for most wins with 4.

13 +2 Kyle Busch 2911 -653 24 1 4 6 8
14 -1 Brian Vickers 2906 -658 24 6 1 4 11
15 -1 Clint Bowyer 2833 -731 24 0 0 4 10
16 -- David Reutimann 2785 -779 24 2 1 4 7

I think it comes down to everyone from Ryan Newman down to Reutimann, although Reutimann and Boyer are mathematically alive, I don't see them making it.

I see Newman, Martin, and Biffle in with Montoya, Busch and Kennseth as probable and Kahne, Vickers most likely out.

The 42 made a pretty stupid move. Why didn't they pit under caution. It was pretty ovious he had problems. He should have over-rode the crew chief and pitted. The tire wasn't going to fix itself. As they say, hindsight is 20/20... I still say he gets in though. I'm guessing Kenseth and Busch swap places.

The comment given to Montoya over the radio to keep diggin' with a flat tire was the most stupid I've heard this year. Foresight should have been 20/20.

I think that just goes to show the pressure these teams are under, and some of them are starting to crack a little. There's no was Mark Martin should've finished outside top 5 at Michigan, Kasey Kahne is starting to slip a little, Montoya had a top ten car pretty easily if he pits under caution with that tire. The pressure is getting to these boys.
