In this wild wild west of college football, what CFP teams will lost the most players, or lose quality players that want more NIL money? Can't UT or other top contenders figure out a way to at least keep good players. Yes, the winter portal is 20 days or so, informing the leaving team with a 48 hr notice. Has this new wave of empowering the player through NIL, transfer portal, changed the power base of college football as we know it? Obviously so. If we keep letting the tail wag the dog so to speak, will we, as fans start to question the college football experience ? Will we as fans change our behavior of paying high ticket prices going forward to watch our TEAM , as it becomes a business instead of a sport that we grew up with? As of today, we see several VOLS leave the program as well as other top teams losing starting receivers, quarterbacks, running backs, and other top positions that affect the scoring. Leaving after a successful season can and will hurt the team with a lack of depth that may be needed for playoff games. Will you want to pay over $100 for a UT jersey with a name on the back that is playing for another team next year? Maybe , maybe it doesn't matter to you.
The NIL and the PORTAL are just the beginnings of having the BRAND change in a very short time.
