I looked at the NCAA ranking summary for UT and a couple of things leapt off the page.

UT ranks 241/343 in turnovers! I have only watched a couple of games so I don't have a clue about where the turnovers are coming from but that seems to be an obvious area for improvement. Does the problem lie with the coaching staff or with the individual players?

In the games lost, did opponent points off turnovers determine the outcome?

It's Fulmer's fault. He alowed complacency to ruin the program. Now everyone is getting our balls! Used to be the Lady Vols were hungry for balls. These days it seems these girls don't really want the balls. Maybe that is Obama's fault.

Here are the stats for turnovers

Simmons 3 per game she had seven versus Notre Dame
Harrison 2.5 per game
Massengale 2.5 per game
Graves 1.5 per game
Russell 1.2 per game
Carter 1.1 per game
Jones 2.5 per game
Moore 1.1 per game
Reynolds 0.83 per game
Burdick 1.6 per game

That is 17.8 per game as a team.
Assists 17.4 per game

Here is a more interesting stat as to why we lose games.

Simmons 1.16 points per shot attempt she has taken 215 shots
Burdick 0.88 points per shot attempt she has take 150 shots
Jones 1.03 points per shot attempt she has taken 88 shots.
So here you have three players that have taken 453 total shots or 25 per game and are producing 469 points. That is 1.03 points per shot attempt which is very low for players getting that many minutes.
Our biggest problem is key players not producing points. Two of these players also have huge problems guarding anybody so it is a double edged sword.

Jones makes a TO every 6.9 minutes of playing time. That's the worst on the team, but she doesn't play that many minutes. Then comes Harrison 8.2, Moore 8.7, Simmons 9.3, Massengale 12.6, Graves 14.8, Burdick 15.1, Reynolds 15.8, Russel 16.2, and the best is Carter at 19.3 minutes per turnover.

It's one of the things the losses could be blamed on. Whose fault, I'd say both players and coaches.

it is interesting that is Jones, Izzy, Simmons then our point guard Massenagle, with the most turnovers per minutes played and no,i didn't count Nia,must be why she isn't playing

that is surprising about Massengale though

simmons must get called for a turnover every time she puts the pass right into izzy, graves, or Russell hands and they drop it or miss the layup? :(

granted, she does push it too fast some times...

It makes sense that Simmons and Massengale have more turnovers as the ball is in their hands more often . The fact that Carter leads in fewest turnovers per minute is awesome

I have noticed on a lot of passes, that the person that is suppose to be looking for a pass isn't,of course i guess they are looking for rebounds ?

Jones is good but makes too many turnovers . Against UF she had four and only played 18 minutes.
